Had a great session with this young lady down at the canal before the rains came in. The hardest thing we had to deal with during her session was how she couldn’t stop smiling. She also came up with many ideas for locations and local wildlife to pose with, but we couldn’t catch the chipmunk (he was camera shy) but the leaf she found did have time for a close up!

With her first session outrunning the rain (and a foot race) and the second session waiting for the football team to finish practice we had a fun time. Can't wait to sit down and go through all the photos with this young lady and her family. I also learned that a flat toss from the field looks like a UFO.

So after a bit of an unexpected start at the the first location, with the city removing a bridge that Kristin and Olivia wanted to use (I swear it was there the weekend before), and a gentlemen inspecting the statue next to our second location. Once we got past these issues we had a fabulous time. The locations that these ladies chose, with Olivia’s connection to the Dome from marching band, to the lovely park area for some more casual shots could not have been a better fit. I look forward to our next session, to capture this great personality with some of the gorgeous New York fall foliage.

Had a good weekend driving around the finger lakes and got a chance to stop at the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge and take some quick shots. I can see some time being spent at this refuge.

I have been fascinated with the boat house and bridge by the Sims' museum at the Erie Canal Park since moving to Central New York. The structures and the materials they are made from remind of some of the plank structure cabins and log bridges I saw in Glacier National Park when I was growing up.

My One Sun

In a field of flowers, I just need one.

When my family first moved to central New York, there where fields of sunflowers planted by a local restaurant that created a maze inside. This summer is the first time in 4 years that the maze in the sunflowers was planted.
