RECIPIENTS OF CHRIS KUHN MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP NAMED
The 2024 recipients of the Christopher R. Kuhn Memorial Scholarship have been selected for the third year of the Scholarship. The 2024 winners are Matthew K. Vascura, Brea N. Wilfong, Rebecca N. Spohn, Savannah S. Flanigan, Lundyn L. Miller and Emily F. Clark.
MATTHEW K. VASCURA, of New Concord, Ohio is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will be a freshman at Muskingum University, majoring in Chemistry and Molecular Biology and then plans to attend medical school. Matthew is the son of David and Jackie Vascura. Matthew is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship.
BREA N. WILFONG, of Zanesville, Ohio is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will be a freshman at Otterbein University majoring in Nursing. Brea is the daughter of Brian Wilfong and Michelle Dunlevy. Brea is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.
REBECCA N. SPOHN, of New Concord, Ohio is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will be a freshman at University of Rio Grande, majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Rebecca is the daughter of Daniel Spohn and Carol White. Rebecca is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.
SAVANNAH S. FLANIGAN, of Cambridge, Ohio is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will be a freshman at The University of Miami, majoring in Biochemistry and Nutrition. Savannah is the daughter of Jackson and Courtney Flanigan. Savannah is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.
LUNDYN L. MILLER, of New Concord, Ohio is a 2024 graduate of John Glenn High School and will be a freshman at Ohio University Zanesville, majoring in Nursing. Lundyn is the daughter of Donnie and Wendi Miller. Lundyn is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.
EMILY F. CLARK, of Cambridge, Ohio is a 2024 graduate of Cambridge High School and will be a freshman at Baldwin Wallace University, majoring in Pre-allied Health and then plans to be a Physician’s Assistant. Emily is the daughter of Mark and Amy Clark. Emily is the recipient of a $500 scholarship.
The Christopher “Chris” R. Kuhn Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Chris who passed away at the age of 63 of Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on November 13, 2019. Applicants need to apply for a scholarship by May 1st of each year and must be a graduate of Cambridge, Buckeye Trail, John Glenn or Meadowbrook High Schools. Applicants should have at least a 3.5 GPA and must be pursuing a degree related to the field of oncology, whether they be doctors, nurses or related field. The Advisory Committee for said Scholarship Fund is Chris’s wife, Cheryl, as well as his nieces, Mary Kay Hardwick and Samantha K. Groh. The Christopher “Chris” R. Kuhn Memorial Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization and donations are welcome and are tax-deductible.
