Since we're talking about babies, here are some images I've never shared before.

I haven't properly gotten into newborn photography yet. Part of that is because the people in my life have just started having babies.

The other part is that I've been nervous. It seems like every newborn shoot is perfectly styled and staged... and that's never been my sweet spot. I don't want to let anyone down who might be expecting that experience.

It feels more natural to me to come and hang out for a bit, and to capture what life is like in those moments. I personally find those kinds of images quite beautiful.

So! I'm practicing sharing images that I love even if it makes me a touch nervous.

This year, Jeff became an uncle for the first time to baby Benjamin. We visited primarily in family mode, but were able to get a few sweet snaps in between naps. Benjy was loving being on mom's chest, so we captured a few of those sweet snuggles on the floor in his nursery - decorated perfectly by and .b.w, I should mention!

Welp. It's been a year since I posted. Guess laziness reeeeeally got the best of me. Either that, or I know how to play a serious long game. I can only imagine you were on the edge of your seat, counting down the days until I posted next. I got you. Don't worry. We're back.

So let's take a look at what's been going on over the past year...

First up - the Conways! We did a quintessential New England fall shoot at the big red barn in their backyard.

Blooper reel: On the second frame of this shoot, my shutter broke in a very permanent way. ALWAYS bring a backup camera, friends. Always. I did not have a backup camera with me that day, and had to reschedule, and the Conways were the coolest about it.

Right before this shot, Shirley and I were both trying to muscle a flash off my camera. It has gotten stuck and was weighing me down. I was ignoring it, but Shirley was determined to fix it. She spends her days guiding Harvard's continuing education students through life-long learning. It was second nature for her to stop her moment to help me. We succeeded.
