Yesterday’s session had an unexpected guest 🐦✨

A tiny hummingbird flew into a window and was left stunned on the ground. A kind stranger gently moved it to a safe spot while it recovered, and since I already had my camera in hand, I was lucky enough to witness & document its recovery. After a few minutes, it hopped up onto a nearby branch (1st photo 🥹), caught its breath… and then flew away like nothing ever happened. Photographing this little beauty ended up being the highlight of my day. Sometimes the most magical images are the ones you never plan for. Now if only I could make a living as a nature photographer, chasing hummingbirds and moments like this! 🤩

Many of you already know, but I suppose nothing feels official until it’s Facebook Official…

Our time in Japan is coming to a close, as we prepare to move to Point Mugu, California this June. While we’re looking forward to the new adventure, this move is incredibly bittersweet. In preparation for the move, I’ll be stepping back from booking new clients for the rest of my time here in Japan. This little business has brought so much purpose and joy to my life, and that’s because of YOU. 🫶

It’s been the greatest honor documenting your stories – Last Flights and Retirement celebrations, Changes of Command, Promotion Ceremonies, Military Homecomings, Newborn snuggles, Maternity milestones, Senior Graduation portraits, and the classic Fall Family sessions that reflect how much can change in just a year. And of course, Cherry Blossom season… so many of you booked these sessions as your very first or very last in Japan. Just like the sakura, our time here has been beautiful, meaningful, and fleeting – and that symbolism has never been lost on me. From Mount Fuji to Tokyo, Kamakura to Yokohama, I’ve been lucky enough to preserve moments big and small across this incredible country. 🎌

Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and cheering me on during my first full year as a photographer. I hope our paths cross again as they so often do in this military life. 🌸 A little Sakura Season update 🌸

To all of my amazing clients who joined me for a Sakura Session this year — thank you from the bottom of my heart! I photographed 24 beautiful sessions over the past 4 weeks, and it has been an absolute joy capturing your families beneath the cherry blossoms.

That said… I’m currently deep in editing mode and (as some of you have guessed!) running a bit behind schedule. If you haven’t received your gallery yet, please know that it’s on its way. I expect to have all galleries delivered within the next 1–2 weeks.

I’m incredibly grateful for the kindness and patience so many of you have shown. Your gracious messages have meant the world to me during this busy season. 💕

Please know that I’m working extremely hard to get these galleries completed and delivered as quickly as I can, without rushing or compromising the quality you deserve. Every family and every image matters to me, and I want your final gallery to reflect that.

🌸 That’s a wrap on Sakura Mini Sessions 2025! 🌸
I had the honor of photographing five more incredible families this past weekend — each one soaking up these final, precious days of sakura season.

Cherry blossoms bloom for such a short time, and maybe that’s why they’re so special. They remind us to pause, appreciate beauty, and cherish the now.

Thank you for sharing your springtime memories with me. This was my last Sakura season in Japan, and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter send-off.

Please join me in congratulating this precious couple who just got ENGAGED!!💍🌸🎉

What started as a rainy forecast turned into the most beautiful cherry blossom morning in Shinjuku Gyoen. He popped the question under the petals, she said YES with the sweetest smile, and the whole thing was straight out of a fairytale.

The joy, the blossoms, their love—it was all so perfect. So honored to have captured this beautiful chapter of their story during their visit to Japan.

Let’s hear it for the future Mr. & Mrs.! 🎉💗🥂
