When Celeste reached out for her maternity shoot we knew a few things. We wanted something bright, but not too bright, an epic view, and something absolutely unforgettable. When they arrived my jaw dropped because of how stunning she was!!! The way her session just gracefully unfolded was too good to be true. Creating our own props and set alongside nature. My last words were “ok I promise this is the last one” as the light finally left the sky. Celeste and her family are an absolute delight and I was honored to capture these memories for them ❤️

There’s something really special about photographing a family with grown children.

When they’re little, you’re documenting the tiny hands, the belly laughs, the curious little spirits, and all the beautiful chaos of raising them.

But when they grow up, the atmosphere changes.

The children become adults. They bring partners into the family. They’re building careers, relationships, homes, and lives of their own. And somehow, you get to watch the people you once carried through childhood standing beside you as the people they’ve become.

As a mom with young adults of my own, I understand how bittersweet and beautiful that chapter can be. You look at your grown children and, for a moment, you can still see the little kid they used to be.

But you also get to love who they are now.

This family was the absolute sweetest, and it was such a joy to document them exactly as they are in this season of life.

Not looking back.

Just enjoying the new chapter together. 🤍

In our industry, we often see the “best of the best” images the highlights that are expected. The first kiss, the intimate portraits, the detail shots carefully styled and framed.

But what about everything in between

The quiet, unscripted moments that don’t always make it to the highlight reel or Pinterest boards. A grandpa’s smile as he dances with his grandbaby. A guest carefully placing a handwritten card into the box to honor someone they love. A hug between friends who haven’t seen each other in years. An uncle holding his niece a little tighter than usual.

Those in between moments are the ones that stay with me the longest. They are not staged. Not planned. Just real.

Because when you start your life together it is important to remember all the in between moments. Those are the ones that shape us. They are what shape you as a couple.

We love the highlight season the big milestones, the curated moments, the ones everyone expects to see.

But we deeply value the in between moments too. The quiet, unplanned, often overlooked parts of the day that make everything feel real.

They are what make our lives richer and they are what make a story worth remembering.

An evening well spent with Simon and Destinee during their engagement session! These two made my job easy with their fun personalities and the genuine connection they share.

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of the wedding experience because they give us a chance to get comfortable together before the big day, and create beautiful images along the way.
