Back in 1996, a group of local bowlers made history at the Copper Bowl Lanes in Ripley, Michigan. And recently, their achievement was recognized and they have received a Copper Country Hall of Fame special award.
The plaque they each were given left space for a photo, but the only available photo from the nearly 30 years ago event wouldn't fit the space.

Back in 2017, I was given two versions of a photo that was taken of a group of people in a local tavern here in Calumet.
After restoring the photo, which took quite a bit of time, I was asked to add some text information, including everyone's name, when and where the photo was taken, and who the original photographer was. This also took quite a bit of time, and I got a lot of help from Dave Richards, Denise Maronen, and Rick Isaacson, among others.
The photo has been recirculating on Facebook lately, so I thought I would post the two original versions I was given, and the final restored photo.

I recently worked on this hockey team photo for a customer. The color had faded and shifted over the years, and the customer also wanted the handwriting on the photo to be more legible.
I scanned the image, corrected the color, and cleaned up a few tiny nicks and scratches.
Then, to improve the handwriting, I zoomed in and went over it a letter at a time with Photoshop's burning tool.

Here is a group of photos I recently received from a customer. They wanted the images restored, enlarged to a 4"x6" size, and several copies of each printed for family members. Some of the images are over 100 years old. They are black & white photos, but the paper they were printed on has yellowed with age. The customer wanted the damage repaired and the exposure and contrast adjusted, but preferred a bit of tinting for a vintage look. If you're interested in getting a copy of the Superior School of Dance's spring show, "K.C.Bonker's Road to Joy," here is some information.
Red Jacket Media did not record the show this year; the recording was done by MTU at the performance on Saturday, May 17. Digital downloads are available from the SSOD website.

However, if you would like a DVD or Blu-ray disc of the performance, Red Jacket Media will have these available early next week. Cost is $25.00, which includes shipping.

Here are a few more old photos I've been restoring. These were taken with a 126 type camera, which typically produced square images. Most often, they were printed at 3 or 3.5 inches square, and usually with a border.
This type of photo print is famous for fading and shifting color, but Photoshop can usually restore the proper exposure and color balance.

I haven't posted anything here for awhile, so I thought I'd let everyone know that Red Jacket Media is still here and in business. I'm still digitizing all old media, including photos, slides, negatives, documents, movie film, and all video and audio tape formats.
If you're doing some spring cleaning, and want to get your materials digitized and preserved, let me know.
I've attached a few before and after photo projects I've been working on recently; if you have any old images that look like these, don't throw them out; if they are worth saving, bring them in!

I was fortunate to be able to attend the final dress rehearsal for Into The Woods at the Calumet Theatre this evening.
This Stephen Sondheim musical from the mid-1980s is based on a combination of several Grimm Brothers fairytales.
The Calumet Players are doing an excellent job with the show, and you should see it this weekend or next weekend if you can. Check the attached poster for dates and times.
