You know that saying "you know someone like the back of your hand?"

On a wedding day, you see them differently:

In the nervous adjustment of a tie 🥹

In weathered hands that have built a life now cradling something delicate 🥹

In the tremble of fingers that have waited for this moment 🥹

In the gentle tug of laces that says "I'm letting you go and holding you close all at once." 🥹

When I'm capturing the story of a wedding, I always look to the hands because they're the truth-tellers.

Everyone else is looking at faces, but those hands are doing all the work.

They're steadying, supporting, holding on, letting go ... The hands show what people feel when they think no one's looking.

The hands tell the real story.

Think fast: What's something your entire family loves to do together?

Do you have photos to capture that special moment?

I had so much fun with Anna of Wingmom Catskills and her family during the Thanksgiving weekend, capturing them all gathered around the table playing board games.

Bonus: I was able to capture a family heirloom in the photos. Everyone who shows up for Thanksgiving signs the special tablecloth laid out on the table where the fam played!
