🚨 EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 🚨
I’ve made a decision about my business that I know may not be popular with everyone, but I’m completely okay with that.
Effective immediately, I will no longer be posting identifiable images of children on my photography page; signed release or not.
And yes, I know this could affect my business.
With AI becoming more advanced by the day, the reality of what can potentially be done with innocent photos of children is incredibly disturbing. Laws are struggling to keep up with the technology, and I refuse to wait until there’s a bigger problem before I decide to take precautions.
A signed release gives me permission to share an image. It does not make me comfortable with every possible thing that could happen to that image once it’s publicly available.
I can’t control what other people do. I can control what I choose to put on my own page.
So I’m choosing to protect the children whose parents trust me with their memories.
If that means fewer likes, less engagement, or losing clients who specifically want their child’s photos publicly shared, so be it.
My business is important to me, but it will never be more important than a child’s safety and privacy.
Children are not content. Their safety comes before my portfolio, my engagement, and my income. Period.
I’d rather be called overly cautious than wish I had been.🤍
