Golden Beach Stillness 🌅

A quiet morning at Golden Beach—no boats, no movement, just the shoreline meeting calm water under a soft sunrise sky. The horizon stretches out in gentle color, reflecting back in slow ripples along the edge of the bay.

It’s the kind of stillness that doesn’t ask for attention… it just is.

Quiet Company at Gilbert Run 🪶
The boats sit lined up along the shore, waiting their turn on the water… while above, the vultures stand watch from the treetops. Down below, a lone Canada goose glides across the glassy lake—unbothered, owning the moment.
Different rhythms, same morning… all part of the scene.

The windmill stood still under heavy skies, turning the landscape into something almost timeless.

At the entrance, the farm sign sat damp from the rain—simple, steady, welcoming even on a cold day.

And then there was the balloon… tied off and left in the weather, collecting droplets like tiny lenses, reflecting the gray sky in its surface.

Not just tulips today—just moments between the rain, the structures, and the silence that ties it all together.

Reflections, Pollen, and Tangled Lines

The day really came together out on the lake—quiet water holding a full mirror of the shoreline, with a soft haze of pollen drifting across the surface like a golden film.

Every ripple felt slower today, like the whole scene was settling into itself. Trees, sky, and light all doubled in the reflection, slightly softened by that spring haze.

Not everything stayed in the water, though. Up in the branches, a bobber and line told a different story—caught mid-cast and left hanging like a reminder that even the calmest mornings have their little chaos.

Still, it all fits together out there. Calm, color, and a few tangled moments woven into the same view.

Light Painting at Golden Beach ✨

Not every frame needs a full scene—sometimes it’s just light, movement, and space.

At Golden Beach, the early hours strip everything down to essentials: darkness, a faint horizon, and whatever shapes you can carve into the air. The result is less about the landscape… and more about what the light decides to become.

Watchers Over the Water 🦅

The boats line up quietly along the shore, ready for the day ahead… while above, the vultures keep their silent watch over the lake. An unusual mix of calm and edge—where still water meets sharp eyes in the sky.

Nature always has its own balance, even in the quietest moments.

Not every visit is about peak blooms… sometimes it’s about what’s left at the end.

At Farm, the fields are nearly empty now. Just a handful of tulips remain—weathered, worn, and quietly fading into the season behind them.

Selective color brought those last bits of life forward… a contrast between what once was and what still lingers.

There’s something honest about this stage—no crowds, no perfection… just the final chapter.

Spring in Motion

Molly and Wally were out again this morning—moving through the mist like they owned the quiet water. Just drifting, pausing, watching… like they were part of the fog itself.

Above them, an osprey cut through the sky, circling and scanning with that sharp focus only raptors have. A reminder that even in the calm, there’s always something happening overhead.

Along the shoreline and into the trees, spring is finally starting to show off. Buds are breaking open, and those little seed pods are hanging everywhere—ready for their own show. Toss one in the air and it spins down like a tiny helicopter blade, disappearing into the grass like it knew exactly what it was doing.

Everything feels like it’s in motion right now—water, wings, wind, and new growth.

Light Painting at Golden Beach ✨🌅

Golden Beach before sunrise is quiet enough to hear your own movement—and that’s where the light starts to come alive. Each sweep across the frame leaves a trail suspended between the shoreline and the waking sky.

The water reflects it, the horizon absorbs it, and for a brief moment everything becomes part of the same glowing canvas.

The season is winding down at Montpelier Farms, and what’s left behind tells a different kind of story.
Most of the blooms have come and gone. The ones still standing are weathered—petals curling, colors fading, but still holding on just enough to be seen.

Selective color felt right for this moment… letting those last traces of color stand against everything else fading away.

It’s not the peak of the season—but there’s something real about catching it at the end.

Pink in the Fog

A spring flowering tree stood quietly in the middle of thick fog this morning, almost like it was floating in its own little world. Soft pink blossoms stretched through the mist, every petal covered in dew that caught just enough light to glow.

The fog wrapped everything in silence and softness—turning the whole scene into something almost unreal. No harsh edges, no distractions… just color, moisture, and stillness working together.

It’s one of those moments where spring doesn’t announce itself loudly—it just appears, slowly, through the fog.
