5AM mornings before the crack of dawn have never been more exciting and worth it. It was surreal witnessing barn owls in the wild, as I've only ever seen them online or in sanctuaries. There were 2 juveniles and an adult routinely hunting in a vast field nearby some wetlands over the past couple of weeks.

These magnificent birds have one the best hearing thanks to their facial discs comprised of densely packed feathers which allows sound to travel more efficiently to their ears. That combined with excellent low-light vision makes it apparent these owls are such fascinating hunters.

The allure of Peregrine Falcons will always leave a lasting impression to me, I visited a recent Peregrine Falcon fledgling along the coastal shores and witnessed its beautiful feats of maneuvers as it soared through the sky.

This peregrine falcon is an only child from this year's brood at this particular nest and quickly adapted and learned the ways from its fierce mother, whom is often seen closeby defending its territory from crows, ravens, seagulls, and pelicans to name a few.

The allure of Peregrine Falcons will always leave a lasting impression to me, I visited a recent Peregrine Falcon fledgling along the coastal shores and witnessed its beautiful feats of maneuvers as it soared through the sky.

Unexpectedly came across this beautiful pair of Harbor Seals (Phoca vitulina) 🦭 while photographing peregrine falcons around the cliff face high above.

Their ability to spot me, a tiny speck at least 30 meters high above them on the cliffs was surprising; With their curious gaze as they lift their heads to get a visual on me before realizing I was no threat and resting again was gleeful to watch.

This was one of my first documented encounter with them in the wild since the California Sea lions are more abundant on the coasts of California and until then, I've only heard and seen pictures of Harbor Seals online, definitely a welcomed random encounter πŸ₯Ή

Excited to try something new and begin capturing more scenes of wildlife and nature behind the lens to tell more unique stories.

Videography is something I was always drawn to and i'm excited to start a new path on this journey alongside what got me into photography in the first place; telling stories and moments of our beautiful natural world and the amazing species that inhabit them.

I too struggle with doubt, perfectionism, anxiety, among other things and this is my start of actually beginning and doing the things I was set out to do, thank you for those always supporting me and for even reading this, I will continue doing this no matter what, cheers. πŸ“·

California Least Terns (Sternula antillarum browni) are among the endangered species watch list since 1970 due to increased habitat lost, human disturbance, pollution, and changes in ocean conditions affecting their food supply (to name a few) along California's and Baja California's coasts.

They're migratory birds in this region and arrive here in Southern California in the Spring/Summer months during breeding season; it made it even more special to be aware of all this as I had the privilege of safely observing and photographing these terns and their chicks at a safe distance.

Moments like these where it's not just about taking the photos is what truly inspires me to learn more about all the beautiful species that inhabit our beautiful, diverse world and it all begins with a bit of curiousity and reminder with whom we share the world with 🐣
