A flight of 4x Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace Mirage 2000-D flying at low level in a narrow valley in Greece during Exercise Iniochos.

The French have attended the exercise in recent years with the Mirage but in previous years also with the Rafale.

Whilst the Typhoons are taking part in the ongoing Exercise Cobra Warrior, they are also making use of the United Kingdom’s low flying areas when possible.

A Koninklijke Luchtmacht AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter flying low level over Thirlmere Reservoir in the Lake District.

The gunships were over in the United Kingdom for the annual Exercise Tac Blaze which sees the Dutch deploy a number of assets to Carlisle Airport. The exercise is mainly based around RAF Spadeadam.

School run for ‘Vader’ flight of 4 Luftwaffe Eurofighters as they made a couple of late afternoon passes of Ullswater this week.

The squadron are currently flying out of RAF Cranwell and taking part in Exercise Cobra Warrior 26-2.

A pair of Koninklijke Luchtmacht Cougar helicopters flying low on a range in Cumbria.

The aircraft were taking part in the ‘Tac Blaze’ exercise which takes place annually in Northern England. The RNLAF send a number of Chinook and Apache helicopters to this exercise.

US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles flying low and fast in the Lake District.

This flight were from the 494th FS based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk and were flying on a routine training mission in low flying area 17 also known as LFA17.

Hellenic Air Force Mirage 2000-5BG leading a pair of F-16’s low through a canyon in Greece.

It’s not uncommon to see a mixed formation flight. Greece maintains a strong fleet of four types of frontline aircraft including the Mirage, Rafale, F-16 and the F-4 Phantom.

RAF Typhoons flying low over Ullswater in the Lake District on a crisp winter morning.

This pair of Typhoons were from 29 Squadron based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

The Royal Air Force regularly train at low level and fly down to as low at 250ft. In some areas of the UK fixed wing are permitted at low as 100ft and rotary aircraft even lower.
