Prairie Belle Photography I am a for hire photographer, specializing in agriculture & capturing livestock emotions. My photogr A journalist tells stories. Photojournalism captures "verbs."

Photographers take pictures of nouns (people, places and things). A photojournalist takes the best of both and locks it into the most powerful medium available - frozen images. To tell a story, a sentence needs a subject, a verb and a direct object. Photojournalists shoot action verbs ("kicks," "explodes," "cries," etc.). I do shoot some nouns. These nouns can be standard photos of people (portrai

ts), places (farm, ranch, rodeo, farmers market) and things (name it). However, the nouns I seek still must tell a story. The stories I am interested in telling are about my experiences as a woman involved in agriculture and neo-homesteading, my family's involvement in agriculture and homesteading, the general misconceptions of sustainable agriculture vs conventional agriculture, and the advancement or decline of agriculture. Prairie Belle Photography is tied very closely to my other business, Heritage Belle Farms, and my blog, which will someday morph into a book. I am a for hire photographer, who specializes in taking photographs of agriculture, and capturing emotions in livestock. I am not a portrait or family photographer. I charge a flat rate of $50 for 1 hour of taking pictures and 1 hour of editing photos, plus $0.55/mile round trip. You will get a CD with all your edited images (minimum of 5) and an image release so that you may print and use the photographs yourself.
