After several years I have decided that I am going to shut this FB page down and only keep my main page.
I have and continue to appreciate all of you that have for what ever reason to continue to follow the Alan Gilmore Photography page.
After Monday, and if you are interested in continuing to see what I post all of my photography and other things I might find interesting will all be located at www.facebook.com/alangilmore. If you decide to continue to follow me, I truly appreciate it, if not I also completely understand.
Thanks in advance,
alan

Last one for me today.
Whenever I go out to the coast, I find the nearest harbor to photograph "stuff!" For some reason, I have a strong attraction to the boats and all the assorted equipment, rust, smells and small scenes within the larger scene.
In this case it is these damn holes on the side of the boats in which the mooring lines pass through to tie the ship up to the dock. I am not sure why I find these things so fascinating but I probably have hundreds of images of them. All different, different ropes, different colors and different backgrounds. They are called "Hawseholes", which is simply the hole in the hull of the boat through which large ropes called "Hawsers" are passed for mooring. As a past sailor with four years in the Navy, you would thing I should know that!
Anyway, enjoy some simple, nautical minimalism!

A sunset from the Oregon coast earlier this week using Intentional Camera Movement to blur the image. Amazing weather combined with the King Tides resulted in a great 5 days of relaxing at the coast.

There has been a lot to think about over the past few years and certainly for the next few years ahead of us. Lots of uncertainty, stress and anxiety, certainly more than enough to go around. Here is to all of us working together to make the promise of the United States of America attainable for all.
Merry Christmas, and a happy holiday season to all of you! I am hoping for a healthy, happy New Year for all of us in the year to come.
Take care,
alan
