Looking at nature through a biblical lens through the eyes of hope

This site is dedicated in the memory of my daughter Jamie Hope Risenhoover who passed away in 2006 after a long fight with leukemia. My daughter loved animals and talked about becoming a veterinarian and was always taking in a stray. Throughout her battle with leukemia, she always kept her sense of humor and compassion for others

as well as hopes for the future. I spent endless nights with her at the children's hospital while she was being treated. I prayed for God to heal my daughter and felt so blessed when she was in remission and my heart dropped when the leukemia came back. I felt as if I had failed to believe hard enough. Shortly after her death while flying back to Colorado to bury her in the family cemetery where five generations of family are buried, I realized that God had answered my prayers. Maybe not in the manner I had envisioned but the suffering and pain was gone never to be felt again. Yes, as a parent you would do anything to stop the pain and the suffering of your child. I felt such peace as I had never experienced before during that flight back home. When I would shut my eyes all I could see was her face and a beautiful smile and the pain and suffering was gone forever. As I contemplated on her loss the thought of who could take care of her better than me came to mind, I realized that my heavenly Father could. When I was having her headstone built, I opened the Bible to this section
1 Corinthians 15:55-57
O death, where is thy sting? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the things we were able to do is go to a wildlife park and take pictures of the animals when she was in remission so in approximately 2012, I started a web page and page and dedicated it to her memory.

The first look at a human and I would have to wonder what they think. So far two chicks identified for sure and possibly a third one. What do you think,
