I'm Morgan Brown and this is Figment Photography of Rockford, IL. My life is a series of frequent thrift store stops, tea spills on my outfit (I always keep a spare set in my car), solo walks around grocery stores, long road trips and flights to random places, and whipping my camera out for portraits and weddings. Every once in a while, I get to live out all my * dreamy * moody * artsy * vibes and these amazing people gave me that opportunity (also they're on the blog.. therefore the post 😉) You can scroll through my profile and see all sorts of ways people show each other affection.
Some are "hold each other close" kind of folks, others are happy to stand near and laugh deeply. Some have a loud kind of love, others are more subtle. Some are silly and others lean into the somber. Some have a sweet peace together and others are all frenetic delight (often those people are kids! 🙈)
And I adore that because people are infinitely interesting and the way they uniquely care for each other is part of the beauty. It is such a sweet joy to be always learning how to document real-life love, not just some cookie-cutter thing. So lean into how you show affection to your people because it really is a lovely thing ✨

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. -1 Cor. 13:12
It was impossible on this wedding day not to think of the greater, sweeter day we are waiting for that has been promised over and over again. When the officiant reminded the two of them of the deep bond they have to fully know and to fully love each other as we are loved by Christ. As everyone was waiting on the literal edge of their seat, ready to rise when the doors rolled back to reveal the bride. In the joy-filled celebration after. It was a beautiful wedding, it was an even better reminder of the day when all things will be made new ✨

The other day, someone asked me for my favorite wedding memory. I gave some kind of sweet story but what I really wanted to say was "That time I left the reception and the DJ was playing 'Africa' by Toto and I walked out with my camera and bag, exhausted but proud like a superhero walking away from a burning blast. Yeah, that was pretty great."

TWO WEEKS til I get to party with this girl (the bridesmaid.. not the bouquet 😉) and her fiancé ✨ And I could not be more excited for all the sweet hugs and jokes and love she shares with everyone, and also to photograph her walking down the aisle to her man. It’s gonna get emotional guys 🙈🖤
