"THEY LOVE EACH OTHER FIERCELY." 🥹🤍

That's what Mom wrote in her questionnaire when I asked her to tell me about her family.

And just look at them.

One of my favorite parts of my process happens before I ever pick up my camera. I send every family a questionnaire asking about their personalities, their relationships, what makes them them, and anything I should know to make their session feel comfortable and true to their family.

Because I don't just want to know what you want your photos to look like.

I want to know who I'm photographing.

Who makes everyone laugh. Who needs a little extra time to warm up. Who is inseparable from their sibling. What makes your family YOUR family.

Those little details help me approach your session with intention, so we're not just creating pretty pictures. We're documenting the relationships that make your family special.

And when a mom tells me her kids love each other fiercely, you better believe I'm going to look for every opportunity to capture that.

The way they lean into each other. The laughter. The little touches. The connection that comes so naturally to them.

This is why I ask the questions. Because sometimes, the most meaningful details about your family are the ones I want to make sure you never forget. 🤍

**CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS FOR A SECOND? 🥹🤍**

One of my favorite things about photographing the same families year after year is watching the relationship grow. Not just with the parents, but with their kids, too.

The little ones who used to be shy around me now come running up with a big “HIIII, JESS! GUESS WHAT?!”

And then the stories begin. 😂The random facts, the latest adventures, the things they just HAVE to tell me before we can even get started.

No awkward stranger danger. No spending the entire session trying to get them comfortable with the lady holding a camera.

Just kids who know we're going to have fun.

And moms who know they can relax because I'll capture the things that matter. The big personalities, the silly little quirks, the way their kids interact with each other, and all the things that make their family *THEIR family.*

That's what happens when I get to photograph your family year after year. We build trust. They get comfortable with me. I get to know who they are, and I know what makes them laugh, what makes them tick, and what moments Mom is going to want to hold onto.

And somewhere along the way, your photographer becomes someone your kids are genuinely excited to see. 🥹

**That's the good stuff.**

Because I don't just want your kids to feel comfortable enough to smile for my camera. I want them to feel comfortable enough to be completely themselves.

MONTHS of planning for one perfect moment. 🥹💍

Cade planned the sweetest surprise for Abby on their 5th anniversary, and I got to be there to capture the whole thing!

THE YOUNGS 🤍✨

There are some wedding days that feel almost surreal to photograph, and Pilar + Dane’s was absolutely one of them.

I first met these two last year for their engagement session at The Woods, so coming back on October 1st to photograph their wedding day felt extra special. And somehow, the day was even more magical than I imagined.

A beautiful, intimate Thursday wedding ceremony surrounded by the people they love most, followed by a reception that was anything BUT quiet. 😂

There was so much energy, so much love, and SO many moments I didn’t see coming. The mother-son dance turning into a full-on flash mob? EPIC. Personalized Steelers jerseys because BLACK + GOLD BABY. 🖤💛 And then the most perfect October sunset showed up and basically put the final stamp on an already incredible day.

It was emotional. It was fun. It was a little wild. It was completely THEM.

And this is exactly why I love wedding photography. Yes, I want the beautiful portraits and the gorgeous details, but I REALLY want the moments you couldn't have planned. The people losing their minds on the dance floor. The tears you didn't expect. The ridiculous stuff your friends will talk about for years. The sunset you didn't know was coming.

Pilar + Dane, thank you for trusting me to document your wedding day. From your engagement session at The Woods to becoming The Youngs, it has been so freaking special getting to be part of this chapter. 🤍
