It started with an idea to complete a human-powered ascent from Canmore, Alberta to the summit of Mt. Temple in Banff National Park. After about 70 miles of biking and hiking to Sentinel Pass, we didn’t like the forecasted threat of thunderstorms that were incoming daily and a slippery downclimb on polished holds, so we trusted our instincts and turned back after reaching the pass. Regardless of not completing our initial objective, it was a fun adventure with my long time friend and absolute legend .m.mcdowell. Photos and video of the man in blue (me) are by .m.mcdowell. I am very much looking forward to our next Canadian bikepacking trip and plans are already in the works.
