Motherhood is the masterpiece. We’re just capturing it.

The rich earth tones, flowing fabrics, and bold silhouettes were all about celebrating motherhood in a way that feels both soft and commanding. I’m obsessed!

When was the last time your family took professional photos? 👀

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard clients say, “We’ve never taken family pictures,” or “It’s been YEARS since our last family session.”

And I get it! Life gets busy, schedules get crazy, and somehow family photos keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list.

But here’s the thing. Your family will never be exactly as it is today. The kids are growing, life is changing, and these are the moments you’ll wish you could revisit.

So here’s my little challenge to you: Don’t let 2027 come and go without documenting your family. 🤎

It doesn’t have to be a special occasion. Being together is reason enough.

What a year it has been!

To every client who has stepped in front of my camera in 2026, THANK YOU! Thank you for trusting my vision, allowing me to capture your milestones, celebrating life’s beautiful moments with me, and continuing to support Melissa Jay Photography. Whether this was our first session or one of many, your support means more than you know.

And while 2026 isn’t quite over, we’re already looking ahead to another year of creating beautiful memories and unforgettable imagery!

My 2027 calendar is officially OPEN, and dates are already being booked!

Your holiday portraits are officially entering their Rouge Noël era!

Melissa Jay Photography Holiday Mini Sessions are officially on the way! This year’s sessions will feature a rich, romantic holiday setting filled with deep red velvet, glowing lights, lush greenery and beautifully wrapped gifts.

Choose from three limited session dates:

November 14
November 15
December 6

🌲Each session will take place at Highlight Creative Studio and includes 10 beautifully retouched digital images.

🌲 Sessions are up to 30 mins each and are not designed for families over 6. Please reach out about a regular portrait session.

🌲Previous MJP Minis clients have Early Access 9/4-9/7 (check your emails)

🌲Booking officially opens September 8 at 10 AM!

🌲Sessions are limited! If we sell-out, please join the waitlist. We may open up additional slots depending on demand and studio scheduling but no promises.

Your brand deserves more than a good headshot. It deserves a whole story.

And Niajah understood the assignment.

For this branding session, we created a mix of images that feel polished, professional, warm, and approachable. Because your audience shouldn’t just know what you do, they should get a feel for who you are.

That’s the beauty of a branding session: multiple looks, multiple moods, and a library of content you can actually use across your business.

And can we talk about this green? Niajah + this space were a MATCH.

She said neutral. She said brown-forward. We said… let’s create ART. 🤎

There’s something about a monochromatic palette that allows every detail to have its moment; the warmth of the browns, the movement of the fabric, the light on her skin, and most importantly, the beauty of motherhood.

We took her vision and built an entire maternity story around it. Rich chocolate tones. Layers of texture. Movement. Drama. Softness. And a little love from dad, too.

This is why I love when my clients come to me with a feeling, a color, or even the beginning of an idea. You don’t have to have every detail figured out. That’s where the creativity begins.

Because maternity photos don’t have to simply document how you looked while carrying your baby.

They can be art.

And these?
These belong on a wall. ✨
