Kil’s Birth Story:
After years of trying for a baby we finally sought help at a fertility clinic. After 3 unsuccessful rounds of IUI and a miscarriage after a round of IVF, we got pregnant again on our second round of IVF treatment with our son. We opted for a natural birth at the Fort Worth Birthing and Wellness Center because I wanted a natural birth and we loved the midwives and the environment there. (It was also a bonus that my sister had my beautiful niece there and spoke highly of her experience).
On June 8th, 2021 at 4am I woke up to some slight contractions. I had contractions on and off all day while I rested at home. I went to bed that night and again woke up at 4am the next morning on the 9th with more intense contractions and knew it was time to call the midwives. I labored at home for a few hours and then went in to the birthing center that morning to get checked. I wasn’t quite ready to have Kil yet, so we went back home for a few hours and our Doula, Mary, met us at our house to help support us.
I honestly lost all sense of time, but after my husband and I decided I was ready, we headed back to the birthing center to get set up and ready to meet our son. I had wanted a water birth, and we tried for one, but it just didn’t work out that way. After hours of pretty intense back labor and some serious tunnel vision we finally welcomed our sweet boy into our arms at 9:01pm on June 9th, 2021.
Ko and I were blessed to be able to have my mom there with us and our Doula, along with the support of our amazing Midwives.
The beautiful birth of a sweet boy. His mother labored in water and then on a birthing stool. This took place in the spacious Fort Worth Birthing and Wellne...
