Sometimes it’s just fun to play. Rio Sirah The INVINCIBLE is an incredible bodypainter and I had so much fun creating this image to capture his Dark Phoenix from a few years ago. Unlimited “wardrobe” gives a completely different freedom to a capture and it was fun to envision her hovering off the ground when I was taking the capture. (Just as a note, her eyelids are painted as the white eyes, all of this is for realsies.

Finally getting around to posting some new work. Mr. Handsome Jorge Antonio Jiménez. came out to capture some epic shots with me. We did a lot of B&W, but I loved this powerful shot in color. Can’t wait to share more! Shot with Flashpoint Lighting and my Aputure Spotlight Mount (I really need to upgrade to their new model), and atmosphere by Practical Magic & Innovation | Portable Fog & Haze Machines as always!

Sorry I’ve been so quiet, it’s been a month of deep-diving into learning, business, and networking. I reawakened a past-love of my art (more coming soon), and have been inspired by like-minded people that share passion, hard-work, and focus over sensationalism and spectacle. Just wait until you see what is in store. Things are a-coming’!

I need some new fashion shoots. I find relationships with designers and stylists to be the trickiest part of my job when it’s just about trying to make art for art’s sake, so instead I’m just going to start making alternative stuff and see what happens. Be prepared for weirdness. (Greatful to Gelareh Designs - Conscious creator for working with me for this set though, such amazing pieces)

So thrilled to have won the First place in Class in the IIC International Imaging Competition Awards . Grateful to all the judges for the amazing feedback, and I’m withholding sharing the image because it will likely be entered into another upcoming competition with the critiqued changes. Being able to constantly improve what I do is why I love competing. The awards are just a wonderful side effect. The education itself is the reward.
