I figured it was probably time to say hi.....
There have been quite a few new faces around here lately, and since I recently got to step on the other side of the camera for a little fun, this seemed like the perfect excuse for an introduction.
I'm Rachel — the girl behind Rachel Colwell Photography. 🤍
A few random things about me:
• I'm a wife + mom to three boys.
• I'm also an RN and still work occasionally.
• I'm a first responder wife, which is a big part of the heart behind my Hero Sessions.
• We're a homeschooling family, so most days are some combination of school, toddler chaos, editing galleries + reheating my coffee. 😂
• I love camping, being outside, good music and slow summer evenings.
• I’ll choose my Vans or Converse over dressing up pretty much every time.
• And when it comes to photography, I'll always choose real connection over perfect posing.
Most of what you'll see around here is families and all the little stories that come with them, along with couples, maternity, seniors, intimate weddings + my Hero Sessions. 📷

And a huge thank you to Julia Burtch Photography for these! I wanted something fun, creative and a little different — and she absolutely nailed it. Getting on the other side of the camera was pretty fun for a change. 😂
