15 Years Ago Today (1/27/2011) – First Paid Photoshoot 📸 This was the moment I knew my work had reached a level where I could put a price on it. I took my friend Liliana’s senior photos and had actually been hired to do it! ✨
I remember what a fun day this was creating with my friend, how nervous I was, and how I felt free to try different locations and angles as the sun went down. ❤️
There was so much I hadn’t learned yet, but I had the knack and the vision. ⚡️ The best part was, she loved what we created together. The last image ended up in the yearbook!
The people who invested me when I first started by business deserve a special shout-out:
🔷 My husband was my first and biggest cheerleader in telling me photography could be a career and not just a hobby or a side hustle, and he maintained that belief the whole time.
🔷 My award-winning photojournalist dad is who gave me a love for photography and who encouraged me to make this into a business.
🔷 My first clients: the Gonzalez/Wisdom Family, the Scott Family, the Powell Family, and the Parham Family.
Y’all saw the vision when many others said, “You’d better get something to fall back on.” 😂
