In the studio today dialing in a mocap shoot. Running full body capture on the system, paired with new HMC for facial capture. We’re also streaming everything live into for real time previz so you can see the performance come to life instantly.

At GDC with showing how we use their tools inside our game cinematics pipeline.

MetaTailor lets us quickly fit clothing assets to our MetaHumans and send them straight back into Unreal Engine with their Bridge feature. It speeds up character creation and helps us move faster when building cinematics.

Day 1 at GDC is in the books.

We’ve had some great conversations around game cinematics and motion capture and how we’re bringing real filmmaking techniques into real-time pipelines with Unreal Engine.

At the booth we’re also showing how we’re using MetaTailor in our workflow along with a preview of a new Unreal Engine plugin we’ve been building to streamline cameras and lighting for cinematics.

We’re out in San Francisco this week with the team at showing how we use their software inside our Unreal Engine pipeline for game cinematics. It’s been a great tool for quickly creating and customizing characters for real time storytelling.

We’re also showing a new plugin our team has been building that makes working with cameras and lighting in Unreal much faster when creating cinematics.

Testing out new Hyperscape feature on the 3s and the results are wild. This kind of quality from a headset you can buy anywhere is going to move spatial scans and gaussian splats into everyday life fast.

We really believe these scans will get as easy as taking a picture, except you can actually step back into the moment. We have been talking about scanning our spaces every year so when we are older we can walk back into moments from when our kids were younger. It really feels like time travel.

This tech is going to change both professional and personal worlds in a big way.

Can’t thank everyone enough for coming out to our last workshop. We covered it all from virtual production, Phantom Tracking, cinema robotics, motion capture, markerless mocap, and spatial scans with Gaussian splats.

Big thanks to David Stapp, Austin Glass, and John Makar with District Cinema for leading the sessions and sharing their knowledge. And a huge shoutout to our tech partners Unilumin USA, SISU Cinema Robotics, OptiTrack, ZEISS Cinematography, Puget Systems, and XGRIDS for helping make it all happen.
