đŸ‘€Today spotted five manatees in the Tarpon Springs Boyou Crystal Lake.

There was a smaller manatee calf around too.

We watched them for about a half hour as they were swimming and playing close by for a while.

I always love seeing dolphins and manatees while in Florida!!!

A couple Manatees were swimming in the gulf by the beaches along Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.

They are found in warm waters along the coast in the Gulf, Rivers, Springs and Bayous.

You will also hear people calling them, "Sea Cows."

They can get up to 13 feet long and weigh 3500 pounds.

They eat seagrass. 100-200 pounds daily

They can't survive in waters below 60 degrees

Did you know that manatees are related to the elephant group.
-they have toe nails on their flippers

Along the beaches and fishing piers in Florida you will see alot of birds peacefully waiting for a fish to catch in water or one released by a fisherman.

It never gets old to see a dolphin swim right by you. In Tarpon Springs, Florida the dolphin in Bayou Crystal Lake was.swimming around trying to catch some fish.

Check out the little clip of the dolphin going by!!

If you stay longer throughout the day you may even see some manatees in the water.

Another Beautiful Day!!!

Sandhill Cranes are so cool. They stand 3-4 feet tall and are mainly in open grasslands, prairies and wetlands. They can live 20+ years in the wild and they also find hate for life. They have a long neck shaped like saxaphone. They can make a loud bugle call with their long trachea that can be heard over a mile away.
They are also known for their dancing all year round not just during mating season. That is the way they release tension.

It is always cool to see them walking around neighborhoods, golf courses, along the shore and in the wetlands.

Two Mallard ducks (drakes) hanging out for protection and safety.

Once the female is nesting, the males stay away for and form a group called a "drakeaway."

Ducks create bonds and if they have been raised together, they bond better and usually won't fight.

It is interesting how birds know which one is part of the group and from a different group. (They all look a like to me..)
