It's Pro-Tip Tuesday!! This week's Pro-Tip is about taking pictures at events 📸

💡 Want a cinematic look? Use Portrait Mode and make it black & white.
Only the subject is in focus.

💡 Taking a full body photo of someone? Don't use Portrait Mode.
Instead, squat down a bit so the center of the photo is at your subjects waist level. And don't cut off their feet!

💡 Be aware of the professional photographers at the event.
The people hosting the event paid the photographers a lot of money to capture the whole thing, so don't get in their way! Be mindful of staying out of their shots.

It's Pro-Tip Tuesday!! You've heard this one before, but it's the best way...

Practice makes perfect 😉

I give you all these tips to improve your cellphone photography and your posing, but unless you practice them you won't use them.

Do you really think celebrities pose perfectly for the camera instinctually??
No! They have a posing coach and they PRACTICE!

Do you think influencers just pick up their cellphone and get the perfect picture on the first try??
No! They start off taking 100 photos and learn through watching other creators and they PRACTICE!

So look over my tips again and practice them. It really is important.
You can also sign up for one of my upcoming classes on cellphone photography. You'll get individual attention and hands on experience.

Learn how to use your cellphone to take better photos of objects.
This is a great class for anyone who makes or sells items.
You will learn about the settings on your cellphone camera, how to use available lighting, and how to compose a scroll stopping photo.
Only 6 spots in this class (2 are already taken) so you'll get individual attention and hands on experience.
The class costs $55.20, but you can write it off come tax time.

Learn how to take better selfies with your cellphone camera. This is great for anyone who feels like they look bad in selfies and want to learn to take better selfies alone or with friends. You will learn about the settings on your cellphone camera, how to use available lighting, how to pose to look your best, and how to hold the camera at the right angle.
There are 8 spots for this class. Sign up with a partner or friend so you can practice taking selfies together! Then you can grab dinner together at one of the local restaurants surrounding Actual Books. This class costs $40.

Our amazing member TBC Photo is hosting another relevant class that you could attend!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 5:30-7pm at Actual Books in Kenmore 🎉

This class will focus on photographing objects (product photography), but you'll also learn about your cellphone camera's settings to enhance all of your photos.

If you post on social media or sell items online (on Etsy, Ebay, Facebook Marketplace...) Do you make art? Sell jewelry, or books, or mugs?
Then this is the class for you!

I'm limiting the class size to 6 people so everyone gets individual attention.
And I've extended the class time to 90 minutes so everyone has time to practice, ask questions, and get answers.

Bring some items to photograph and you will walk away with a bunch of images you can use, as well as ideas and better skills to take more interesting images in the future!

This class is called Cellphone Photography: How to take better photos of the products you sell.
The cost is $55.20 per person.
