It's Pro Tip Tuesday!! This one is about marketing your events 🎉

If you're having an event, hire a photographer.
Here are my top 5 reasons why:

1. You can use the photographs to promote future events.
It's always better to have photos of actual people that attended the event instead of using stock photos.

2. Photographs perform better than graphics on social media, so you'll always have photos to post. No more searching for stock photos that match your vision. No more AI slop (everyone can tell and it cheapens your event).

3. Guests love the extra bonus of getting photos of themselves!
People get excited when they see photos of themselves in your advertising and social media posts.

4. You can focus on the event, instead of trying to take photos and missing crucial moments. You can't be everywhere all at once. With a photographer there, you can engage in more conversations and enjoy the moment.

5. You don't need to rely on photos taken by guest's cellphones.
Not everyone knows how to take great photos. And most people only photograph the people they know, not the whole event. AND good luck collecting all the photos from guests after the event. You won't see most of those photos!

"But photographers are expensive"
So is food, event spaces, DJs...
but you budget for them because they are important for a successful event.
Budget for a photographer so you can promote future events so they will be successful too 💡

Feeling all the feelings today as we pack up our youngest to go off to his senior year of college 🥹

I've been teaching him how to make his favorite dishes this summer.
When I make pasta bolognese, or sheparard's pie, or tacos, I break up the meat in the frying pan by stabbing (for lack of a better word) it with a wooden spoon.

Last night, I had a flashback to when he was a toddler and he wanted to help me cook. I'd set him up on a chair against the counter, right next to me, so he could "help". His favorite part was stabbing the meat.

I didn't tell him I was having flashbacks because he's 21 now and I didn't want to reduce him to a child again. I'm trying to embrace who he is in the moment, not think of him as a child through the years.

Our adult kids see us as adults. They always have.
But we see them grow from a helpless baby to a fully functioning adult, getting to know each version of them as they grow older.

It's senior portrait time for high school seniors, so I thought I'd share the senior portraits I took of my son 3 years ago 🥹

I’m in a group art exhibit at CEPA Gallery and the opening was last night 🤗

It’s a big show, 89 artists.
I submitted one of my old pieces from a group show I was in, in Manhattan years ago.

It was a super fun opening and the exhibit is fantastic!

There’s a solo exhibit in the front rooms facing Main St called Theia, by Sara Kow-Falcone that is phenomenal 😍

And I met the current focus resident artist, Joshua Thermidor 🤗 His work is thought provoking and I’m looking forward to going to one of his workshops.

I was chatting too much to take pictures, but I was able to get a few before the crowds arrived.
