www.daleranneyphotography.com From the early days of manual cameras and darkrooms to today’s digital tools, my passion has remained the same—capturing the world as I see and feel it in the moment. I first fell in love with photography as a kid, saving up my newspaper route money to buy a Nikon D

SLR. After years of photo classes in high school, I joined the U.S. Navy and served as a photographer aboard the USS Enterprise. That experience deepened both my technical skills and my love for adventure. These days, I focus on nature and wildlife, sharing my experiences through images that are honest and true to the moment. I consider myself an old-school photographer—not a digital artist—and I find the most joy hiking through the wild, camera in hand, capturing what inspires me.

Every work that reaches a collector is the result of many decisions, including the decision not to show what came before it.

The finished work is not the whole story. It is the end of a longer, quieter process that most collectors never see.

When you live with Ethereal Light at Sturgeon Point Marina, you are living with the result of the artistic process and all that comes with it.

Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 rolls through Swain, New York as it continues its patriotic tour to celebrate Americas 250th birthday. This 1.2 million pound beast is drawing huge enthusiastic crowds wherever it goes.

Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

Union Pacifics “Big Boy” #4014 locomotive arrives in Buffalo, New York. The worlds largest locomotive and only operational Big Boy continues its tour to celebrate Americas 250th birthday this year. Note in the background the Buffalo & Pittsburgh RR “Liberty Train” in its celebratory paint. The fanfare around and following this train is incredible as we effectively pretty much shut down the Tift St bridge as it quickly became jammed with hundreds of onlookers hoping to get a glimpse of a piece of working history.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Green Heron Bullseye" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.

A video of Union Pacifics “Big Boy” #4014 pulling into Buffalo, NY. What a thrill for the large crowd today seeing the worlds largest steam locomotive out on tour for Americas 250th birthday. Be sure to turn your volume up!
