"Be brave enough to find the life you want and courageous enough to chase it."

The one thing I have gained with the loss of my Grandma is a new perspective for the life I want to live.
I want to value my time.
I want to be present with my family.
I want to help others especially when they are fighting their way out of darkness.

The reason I love photographing children so much is that they are so unapologetically themselves. They show you who they are with no need to impress. Even Aubrey will tell you, "that's how God made me."

And I'll be honest, toddlers are easier to take photos of than a six year old. Maybe the older they get the more set in their ways they become.

But they don't yet doubt themselves. They don't care if their hair is messy or what they are wearing. Face covered in chocolate? More for later. Who cares if they are late? That rock was lonely and that flower needed attention.

I'll keep this page up to share the things I'm passionate about. I'll stop beating myself up for slowing down. I'll post photos that give me life. And I won't be sorry for it.

Hey friends!
I am going to share something that has been on my heart for awhile. I have decided to close up the business while I continue to do photography as a hobby.
I want to preserve the joy of doing what I love.
I want to donate my time to others in ways that I feel called.
I will still keep this page open and post photos.

I am still healing from my foot fracture and resting is killing my spirit. Who has time to sit still so much?! As much as I hate to admit it though it has helped me refocus on what brings me joy and what I need to let go of. I may reopen in the future, but this is what I need right now.

For a B&W challenge I re-edited a few beach photos from last October. It's interesting to see what catches our eye when we bring back the simplicity.

SUMMER FUN ☀️
I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer so far! I'll be honest I'm learning to go with the flow this year. In the past I have planned everything out, scheduled days and outings, etc. This year I'm letting things happen however they go. It is easier and less stressful. Although I swear time flies even faster when you are just living in the moment. I will eventually catch up on all the things, but we're about to head back home and be with family.

I cannot put my excitement into words! We haven't seen everyone in person since my uncle passed away. Being so far away plus living through a pandemic, you have to live with the fear that you may not have the chance to see someone again. It's difficult, but we'll enjoy this trip because it is worth so much more than anything I can say. 🥰

We stopped in at Down to Earth Abilene today to buy a few more plants for our garden. 🥰 It never gets old looking at all...

We stopped in at Down to Earth Abilene today to buy a few more plants for our garden. 🥰 It never gets old looking at all of the new things they have brought in. Some of our best summer evenings are spent weeding and enjoying the breeze out back taking care of the plants. I love turning up good music or a podcast and just getting lost in the moment, completely losing track of time. The kids favorite part of course is picking all of the vegetables off the plants and seeing how big we can get them to grow. Even my husband gets excited for the cucumbers. (That's zucchini, honey. 🙃) It's more of a family thing. I truly hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Our family is not all together for the season yet, but we will be soon back to six.
