Looking back at last fall on Apple Orchard Mountain 🍂, I’m reminded of those quiet, colorful moments that make the Blue Ridge so special. Lately, this idea has been sitting with me. We all see things differently, even in nature. The same moment, the same object, the same season can mean something completely different depending on who you are and what you’re carrying. I wrote a short reflection inspired by yesterday’s icicle and the many ways it can be seen, including one very magical interpretation from my daughter.

It reminds me how life works. Some days feel heavy and intense. Others feel light and hopeful.

Nothing changed but the light.

And sometimes, that’s all it takes.

If today feels dark, hold on.
The glow is coming.
If today feels bright, be grateful.
