The rolls. The squish. The little knuckle dimples. The chub.

You'll want to remember the details, trust me.

Let's do it in a simple studio setup. No crazy props, no distractions. Just your sweet baby in a simple setup with timeless wardrobe options from the studio wardrobe.

Studio Simplicity Sessions are ideal for when you need a short and sweet session with just a handful of portraits. They are a great option for budgets also. Wardrobe is included and Mamas are welcome to jump in a few portraits as well.

Happy to answer any questions about these Simplicity Sessions - simply comment below, DM me or email me at [email protected].

The most common questions I get when someone reaches out about a maternity session with me. Let's talk about it.

1. WHEN should I do it? Ideally 28-32 weeks is the best time. That way you have a nice round belly, but baby hasn't started dropping yet and the swelling in your feet and hands is minimal to non-existent. You're also not so far along and uncomfortable changing positions/getting up and down.

2. WHERE should I do it? Studio? Or on location? 99% of the time I'm going to say STUDIO. While we do have a lot of beautiful backdrops here in the Golden Isles, unless a spot is sentimental or meaningful to you, I'm going to say let's do studio. It's intimate. We don't have to worry about the weather. No bugs/gnats. The temperature is PERFECT. And most importantly - THE FOCUS IS ON YOU, not the scenery. And isn't that what it's all about? Your body is doing an incredible thing - you're growing a whole new human. You're glowing. Let's really showcase that.

3. WHAT DO I WEAR? If you're working with me, no need to even worry. No need to go shopping and spend money on a dress you'll likely wear just one time. I have a full studio wardrobe of beautiful dresses and gowns in all sizes that are perfect for every body shape. And you can wear 2-3 outfits during your session.

4. Can I bring my spouse/children? Absolutely! It can be just you, or you can bring the whole family. When you are growing from one baby to two, I especially love to focus on the sweet relationship you have with your first baby in the last few weeks that they're your "only" baby. And bonus - I have wardrobe at the studio for everyone - so no spending money on clothing required!

Delivered this sweet girl's framed heirloom portrait yesterday. I think she smiled through her whole session!

I first photographed her for her first birthday and then these heirloom portraits. She'll be coming from Jacksonville sometime in June to bring me her new baby sister and I cannot wait to document her and her family over the next year as baby sister grows.

I will be hosting a once yearly Saturday heirloom event over the summer. Interested in joining or getting information? DM me your email address to be added to the list and you'll be the first to know.

Extended families are my jam! Seriously, the bigger the family, the more I love photographing them.

This extended family visited Sea Island a few months ago and wanted portraits under the oaks. We worked together on styling/wardrobe and I couldn't love their outfits more.

If you are vacationing in the Golden Isles this summer, June is booked but I've got a few spots left for July and August. Whether you're looking for a beach location, oaks/spanish moss location or a more architextural/garden location - I've got you!

If you're looking for a Sea Island family photographer, St. Simons Island family photographer or Jekyll Island family photographer - I'd love to chat with you.

Along with the digital files, I'll help you with albums and framed portraits of your favorite memories here.

A few quiet days at The Cloister, the sound of the ocean just steps away… and a baby on the way.

There’s a sweetness to this season — the waiting, the wondering, the way life feels both full and still just a little bit on pause.

Soon, everything will change. But for now, it’s just the two of you… and the story you’re about to begin.

As a Sea Island family photographer, these are some of the moments I love capturing most — the in-between chapter where it’s still just the two of you, holding onto these last days before you become three.

One day, you’ll look back on these images and remember exactly how it felt right here. ✨

If you’re planning a trip to Sea Island and want to document this season, or just the joy of your family being together, I’d love to help you tell your story.

There’s something about oak trees and a white dress that makes a moment feel timeless…

But what makes this one unforgettable is the years behind it. I first photographed her about 9-10 years ago, as a tween —- and now here she is, cap on her head and the whole world in front of her.

It’s never just one session. It’s a story, unfolding year by year. I absolutely humbled to be invited back into familie's lives over and over.

Have a graduating senior? I've got just a couple spots left in early May. Reach out and let's chat!

This beautiful mama and family are bringing in baby #4 for his session today and I realized I've never shared any of their maternity session yet.

I have been so lucky to photograph all of their babies over these last 6 years. It's always an honor when someone chooses to keep coming back year after year.

The relationshipo we've built - I love each of their babies dearly and know their personalities so well by this point. It makes the sessions go that much easier.

All clothing borrowed from the studio wardrobe for their session. Mama just had to show up - and we took care of the rest. was waiting at the studio to highlight the natural beauty of this mama and love on her.
That's why you won't ever see me photographing 20+ sessions per month. Been there, done that. Don't ever want to do it again. Truly. My magic number is 8 sessions per month. Just 8. I want time to fully understand my client's vision for their session and really get to know them.

We do in-person consultations prior to the session and wardrobe appointments to make sure all the details are taken care of long before you come in for your session. Business is different for everyone - but in the last 16 years I have learned that busy doesn't equal successful. A least not for me.

I have no words. Gah! Meela and May are the best big sisters. I couldn't love this one more. Pretty sure I squealed when I saw it on the back of my camera at the studio that morning!

How have I not shared this sweet baby boy's session from last fall?!?! I am the worst at sharing sessions and posting on social media. I was looking through old sessions as I re-organized my hard drives (yes, drives....I have 6 currently full of images from the last 16 years) and am going to try to post more from the sessions I've been doing.

Social media can be so frustrating for me. I could hire it out but then it wouldn't seem authentic to me. Maybe I'm just a little controlling? But I like to come up with captions myself or with the help of AI. And because of that sometimes I stumble and say things the wrong way. But sometimes - I nail it. And then sometimes....sometimes I want to post an image but just keep putting it off because I can't come up with the "right" caption for it. Seriously why do we, as creatives, worry so much about these things?

Anyway...thoughts for this random Thursday morning. I have completed day 37 of Lent and walked 2 miles today. What a journey it's been these last 37 days. Working on my journey with God and learning all I can.

Happy Thursday!

Getting ready for a One Year milestone session for an adorable little guy today and realized I never posted this sweet girl who came in a few months back for her Simplicity milestone session!

This sweet baby girl is coming next month for her one year session. Her parents opted in to our baby plan and at the end of her three sessions we're creating a beautiful collective album of all of their favorites from these three sessions.

The Collective album is a favorite among clients. They purchase their favorite images from each session to all be bound in one book at the end of baby's first year. It splits up the cost of the album over 3 sessions plus gets them an incredible discount on their digital files at the same time.

So not only can clients get their digital galleries for sharing to social media and on their phones, but they'll have created a beautiful, high-end album of their very favorite images to be held in one book. A book that will be handed down and one day this sweet baby girl's children and grandchildren will be able to see her at this age.

It truly is a treasure. While we are taking their portraits for us to enjoy "today", really it's about this I think - preserving their legacy in something other than just a digital footprint. It's about investing in tangible products that will become PRICELESS heirlooms when these babies are grown and having babies of their own. Would you agree?
