🚨 Attention Manzano Spartan Families 🚨

Please be advised that all BISD Summer Recreation Activities are canceled on Tuesday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 17 due to the forecast of heavy rainfall and the potential for flooding.

Summer recreation programs are scheduled to resume on Thursday, June 18, pending any additional guidance from district administration.

📢 Summer School Weather Update

Due to anticipated weather conditions, all Brownsville ISD summer school classes for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, have been canceled for students and staff.

Summer school classes will resume on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with a delayed start schedule. Additional information regarding start times will be shared with families and staff as it becomes available.

Please continue to monitor official Brownsville ISD communication channels for updates.

Stay safe and take all necessary precautions during inclement weather.

Day 3 of the TSC-ITECC Tech & Trades Summer Camp gave our Manzano Middle School GEAR UP students another exciting opportunity to explore careers in the skilled trades! 🔧🚗☀️
Students participated in the Diesel Technology Workshop, where they learned about engine components and worked together to take apart and reassemble engines. They also put their engineering skills to the test by building their own solar-powered and remote-control cars.
Through hands-on activities, students gained valuable experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and technical skills while exploring careers in the transportation and technology industries.

Day 2 of the TSC-ITECC Tech & Trades Summer Camp gave our Manzano Middle School GEAR UP students even more hands-on learning experiences!
Students spent the morning with the Industrial Pipefitting Program, where they learned construction safety, wore PPE harnesses and helmets, climbed scaffolds, and assembled their own PVC pipe projects.

In the afternoon, students explored careers in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice by investigating a mock crime scene, learning safe handcuffing techniques, participating in fitness activities, and meeting a K-9 officer.
We are proud of our students for stepping outside their comfort zones and exploring exciting career opportunities!

Our Manzano Middle School GEAR UP students had an incredible first day at the TSC - ITECC Tech & Trades Summer Camp!

Students explored the Auto Body Program, learning about vehicle customization and paint techniques. They even had the opportunity to spray paint their own car molds while gaining hands-on experience from industry professionals.

We are proud of our students for exploring new skills and career pathways in the skilled trades!
