The best weddings are the ones where you can feel in the room how loved and celebrated the couple is. That’s how Aliyah and Justin’s wedding felt. Not only could you feel all of love they share between each, but the abundance of love and goodness they surround themselves with in their lives.
Getting married is a significant and vulnerable celebration, and I believe that’s even more reason to ensure you’re surrounded by those who make you feel loved, safe, and bring out the best in you on your wedding day. It’s a day all about you, your partner, and celebrating the life you’ve built together and the many more years to come. Here’s your reminder to follow your heart-not only on your wedding day, but every day.

Your wedding day is special. It should truly embody the beautiful love you and your partner share, with no one-size-fits-all approach. A day that perfectly reflects your love story, without any unnecessary stress or obligations, where you get to be fully immersed in the day of celebrating your love. That’s what I love so damn much about elopements.

I do love traditional weddings, don’t get me wrong. They can be the perfect choice for many couples, checking all the boxes for their dream day. However, for others, a conventional wedding might feel like an obligation to conform to societal norms and expectations, even if it doesn’t resonate with their true selves.

The idea of a traditional wedding didn’t resonate with my husband and me when we were planning our own day. We thought it was the only “right” way to get married, without any alternatives. We discovered elopements, and this was before the pandemic, when elopements were still widely associated with running off to the courthouse to marry in secret. My own wedding day fueled my deep passion for encouraging couples to embrace a meaningful, intentional way of getting married that feels true to them.

An elopement might be right for you if…

🤍 You want your wedding day to exclusively be yours. You want your day to be a unique reflection of your love story and who you and your partner are as people.
🤍 You don’t like being the center of attention. The idea of exchanging vows in front of a crowd makes you nervous. You’d rather have privacy, feeling safe to speak from the depths of your heart.
🤍 You don’t want your wedding day to feel rushed. “Wedding day blur” is a real thing. So much is packed into one day that it can be harder to focus and take in memories with how overstimulating it can all be.
🤍 You love the outdoors and value experiences. You’d rather say your vows surrounded by nature than in a polished, perfect venue. Being adventurous isn’t just skydiving, rock climbing, or hiking. Adventure comes in countless ways, and you can turn your wedding day into the ultimate, unforgettable adventure of a lifetime that authentically reflects your relationship.

Location is an important factor for a number of reasons when it comes to planning your photo session. When Camila & Adam told me they wanted to do their engagement photos in their home because it’s their first house together and it’s special to them, I was ecstatic. I love to encourage my couples to incorporate anything that’s personal and meaningful to them to our sessions. We had the best time, and it was simply magical seeing the love between Camila and Adam radiate endlessly.

I believe photography’s more than just having great photos. When we look back on the past, it’s the smallest things we miss and wish we could relive and hold onto. The tiniest things we never think to romanticize until it’s too late. It’s highly important to feel comfortable during your session, and for that reason especially. Unlocking your most authentic self to capture the real self and love. When you look back on your photos I want you see how happy and in love you felt. I want you to see the way you and your partner looked at each other at this particular point in life. I want you to remember the bad jokes your partner made that made you belly laugh.

One of my favorite things about love is the privilege you have of meeting the many different versions of each other you get to know, love, and grow alongside of over the years. As Mahmoud Darwish said, “You won’t find the same person twice, not even in the same person.” Photography is deeply rooted in love for me, and the strong belief I have that life deserves to be romanticized, the big and the small things.

Yesterday was my birthday, so of course I’m celebrating with pictures ✨ Thank you to my husband for taking them and making me smile in a way I never can with my self-portraits.

I turned 25 this year! I remember being a teenager and genuinely finding it incredibly hard to picture a life for myself past 18. Now I truly and wholeheartedly look forward to my 30s, daydream of meeting the woman I’ll be at 40, and beyond. Aging is a luxury, and the more I fall in love with life, the more grateful I feel every day to be this young. Happy Capricorn season 🐐♑️✨❤️‍🔥

If I could summarize everything this year’s taught me into one sentence, it’s that mindset, passion, and kindness are more powerful than most people realize. It’s truly changed my life as a whole.
2023 has been a truly remarkable year for me, and I have so much to be grateful for.

💫 I’ve accomplished much more than I expected to. Many of my goals felt so distant and unrealistic, but not only did I meet all of them, I surpassed them and didn’t stop there.

💫 I’ve crossed paths with so many wonderful people who’ve touched my heart and taught me something in one way or another. The connections I’ve made with others this year has only made me even more passionate about this dream I get to call my job. Every individual and couple has a unique and beautiful story, and to simply get a glimpse into them never gets old. Many people don’t think their story is anything special, and I really couldn’t disagree more.

💫 I found out the hard way how debilitating burnout can be, and the importance just behind caring for yourself before you can care others. In order to give the world your very best, you have to take care of yourself first.

💫 I’ve learned so much about myself and the life I want to forever continue working towards, forever growing. Every single one of us is capable of far more than we realize. Too often we stay in the mindset that we’re small and not capable of our “unrealistic” goals, and in turn it becomes your actual reality before you know it.

I’m closing out the year with some of my most favorite photos I’ve taken this year (emphasis on “some” because this was very hard to narrow down).
Happy New Year to everyone. I welcome 2024 with open arms, an open mind, and an open heart. I wish that you all stay safe and are met with an abundance of growth, happiness, love, adventure, and good health. 🎆🎉🪩✨
