power is out, so that means we get donuts and coffee when we finish the run. idk, i don’t make the rules. and yeah, unfortunately my face is ugly whether im just hanging out or 4 miles into pushing two hooligans in the stroller.

can you find me?

this song has proven very dear to me. i find it to be a message about hope when things seem beyond saving. i gravitated specifically to the line “he’s tried his hand at drowning me, but i’m still on fire, at least i’m pretty sure.”

at least i’m pretty sure. i don’t know the intended meaning of these words, but for me i hear them as i want to believe, help my unbelief. i’ve found myself grasping at hope, trying to hold onto anything to keep my faith. i’m sure many relate.

the anxiety that comes with the religious folk around you saying “don’t just go through the motions, you need to come with a worshipful heart”, while internally you know ‘going through the motions’ is one of the only thing keeping you this side of the grass, is a very hard thing to wrestle.

i used to get so defeated hearing from the pulpit to take a “leap of faith”, when often, i was just being called to small steps in a faithful direction.

this tattoo represents the apprehension and uncertainty i feel in remaining faithful. the hope that the sun will rise, tomorrow is new, and this “feeling” isn’t permanent. we press on, running, walking, crawling, no matter the set backs. and we suffer alongside others, because we were shown that by Jesus and because this race is long and community is crucial.

thank you for taking this drawing and turning it into something worth permanence.

christmas tree roadtrip.
this year at halloween, we decided we’d start making season based art for our tv. this is the winter/christmas themed one. very proud with how it came out, made it on my ipad in , and between the halloween image and this one, i have +18 hours on the canvas. a couple slides in, you’ll see a video that takes roughly 11 hours of work into about 8 seconds, so that makes ya feel good lol.

breach concert last night. just a week or so past my first twenty one pilots show 11 years ago. it was judahs second show. unfortunately with starting school this year, he’d been up all day and by the time 10:15pm rolled around, he was falling over in his seat. that meant the second half of the show was spent holding him, feeling his chest as he snored, no more photos or belting the words, just sitting, rocking him, and taking in the fact that i’ve made it so far. i got to hold one of the blessings of “push on through” while watching the band that told me to find reasons to stay around.

this album has by far exceeded anything i expected. and it is shaping up to be a new favorite.

as always, i’m thankful for this band, the friendships it’s made, the hope it’s given, the introspection it’s encouraged, and the experiences i’ve found.

all these photos were taken on public lands. national parks, national forests, blm, national shorelines & state parks.

i want these lands to remain free for recreation, hunting, fishing, camping and exploring for the next generation, and the one after.

this land has been stolen before, don’t let the powers that be steal it again. and don’t buy the “it won’t affect your national parks” argument, because it will. maybe not today or tomorrow, but it will.

this land is yours and mine, and it’s the best thing about this country. to sell it off to be stripped of its beauty or fenced off not only affects our enjoyment of these great lands, but the animals and creatures that move through them.

if you’ve experienced the beauty, you know how difficult it is to articulate those primal feelings you get standing in these places.
dont let that feeling go.

searched everywhere but didn’t find a single sleeping bear.
