There are days as a photographer that stay with you long after the camera is put away. This was one of them. 🖤
The weight of standing in another soul’s legacy was not lost on me. In fact, I’ve carried it with me since this day. To see so many people sharing stories, walking down memories once again, and revisiting the old photos.
The photos were one of my favorite parts. Little moments frozen in time, I was able to see this life grow in all the different seasons.
A young couple.
A growing family.
Years passing.
A life fully lived.
50 years shared with a loving and devoted wife. My heart shattered wide open when I heard her say, “It just hurts so badly.” I’m a husband’s girl through and through, he’s my favorite place to be.
When I think about 50 years of marriage, children and grandchildren, businesses and traveling, ups and downs, moves and career shifts, I can’t help but imagine all the life that gets lived inside those years. All the love shared.
Imagine building a life like that. Imagine the quiet Tuesday nights, the family dinners, the road trips, the hard seasons that shape you, and the joy that carries you through. Imagine the legacy that leaves behind.
I stood in it.
Got to capture it.
What an honor that is.
To say I’m thankful to be welcomed into these vulnerable parts of your life doesn’t seem to touch how I actually feel. Thank you for allowing me to be here.
This is why photographs matter. Not just for today, but for the day when the stories are told again. When the albums come out. When a room full of people gathers to remember a life that meant everything to them.
For the families who know these moments deserve to be held onto. For the ones who understand that the ordinary days eventually become the most sacred memories.
For the stories you’ll tell for generations.
If you’re someone who believes in preserving your family’s legacy through honest, heartfelt photography, I would be honored to document your story too.
