“Somebody once said, worrying and working, if you do one you accomplish something. If you do the other you accomplish nothing. So you might as well do something that accomplishes something.” - Jay Maisel, Jay Myself
In the spirit of accomplishing something during this challenging time, I’ve started a print shop titled “...on PAUSE” - a collection of images that were made from moments in time which caused me to pause and/or reflect; like this image of a recent unexpected spring snowfall on Mother’s Day weekend.
ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to Welcome to Chinatown - an organization that supports Chinatown mom-and-pop businesses that have been greatly affected by COVID-19. As a small business owner and first-generation Asian American, these shops are an inspiration and a model of hard work and resilience. The shuttering of these businesses—stalwarts open 24/7, 365 days a year—is unprecedented. Immigrant communities are the fabric of NYC so this is my small way to help support this vibrant neighborhood get back on its feet.
Thank you for supporting my little business for all these years. I am continuing to move forward one day at a time. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
