That is an actual message from a client, sent before we had even discussed a single session detail.
It happens more than anything else in this studio. A marriage that finally ended. One that lasted years longer than it should have. Whatever the story, it shows up early, almost as an aside, like it needs to be said before anything else can be planned.
They are not asking for sympathy. They are asking what a session even looks like at a moment like that.
Here is what I tell them: a session marks the years it took to get through the divorce, and the person still standing when it was over.
Some want soft and reflective. One woman wanted the opposite, goth, glam, dark feminine, nothing delicate about it. Another said, plainly, that she just wanted proof she survived.
Different requests. Same reason underneath. They are not asking to look good for anyone else. They are asking to see themselves as whole again, this time on their own terms.
If you are somewhere in the middle of this, or just came out the other side, DM me or fill out the inquiry form on my website and lets chat.
