Mourning the end of Summer by reminiscing on this stunning Rockaway Hotel wedding day. 🌞🌿🚎

It was such a joyful, happy day with so much laughter. And the clear blue skies suspended above the bright blue ocean made for these absolutely dreamy colors that i’m still not over!

I always love the ride over to Rockaway Hotel because I get to watch the city view gradually turn into ocean waves. Also, their hotel lobby truly smells amazing… I had to buy their incense from the gift shop the last time I was there because it was genuinely addicting…

I adore taking engagement photos here. It feels like wandering around somewhere ancient, filled with stories. I love anywhere that feels abundant with history - especially when I get to add to it by photographing people beginning (or continuing) stories of their own.

I especially love slide 7, as it’s the moment that everyone saw her in her mom’s wedding dress! Photographing personal touches or any details that makes your day feel unique to you are one of my favorite parts of capturing weddings.

Finally sharing some photos back from my first wedding shot entirely on 35mm film. I remember when Christopher Duggan invited me to second shoot solely on film, I felt equally excited and nervous. I had just gotten a new 35mm camera and hadn’t used it that much yet.

Film has been a medium I’ve wanted to make a larger part of my work for a long time. Analog media is something I value even outside of photography - those who know me well know the sanctity I ascribe to my vinyl collection.

This was my chance to put all my practice to the test. The day itself was so stunning, and I desperately wanted to capture every detail and moment with the care it deserved.

When I received the scans, a huge wave of relief washed over me. The photos felt so aligned with the exact type of work I want to continue creating!

I hope when you view them you can experience some of the beauty, energy, and pure love radiating from this day! I am deeply thankful to Christopher for trusting me, giving me the space to create, and for his encouragement!

We began the session outside the apartment they share, and ended in Central Park, where they often spend time together.

One of my favorite parts of planning engagement sessions is finding all the ways I can personalize it to you. Capturing you at your favorite date night spot or at your first apartment together makes your gallery that much more meaningful to look back on as the years pass.

Traveling back to Tallahassee every year to photograph my sweet FSU grads is always an absolute joy for me, truly. I love meeting all your friends, partners, parents, and pets and connecting with each of you. It’s such an honor to be trusted to capture these moments and see all the new trends that crop up each year…Dare I say this is the year of Dodd Hall?
