Cooler mornings have me thinking of this two-part celebration last year which included an early morning trip to the Red River Gorge! Keiko & Hudson had the best of both worlds with an in town wedding amongst loved ones, and an intimate outdoor trek with just us a few days after.

I’m in the thick of this year’s fall wedding season and despite going to dozens of weddings a year, each one is unique, each is special, each reminds me of all the ways humans are wonderful, for which I am ever grateful.

Julie & Collin’s wedding this past weekend was further proof that weddings don’t have to be grand and flashy to be deeply meaningful and special.

They celebrated by enjoying a weekend at an Airbnb with less than 20 close friends and family. Julie made her cake, her mom arranged the flowers, and her nephew played the bridal march on his recorded (which he learned this week for the occasion). Collin shed more than a few tears upon seeing Julie walk down the aisle. They all ate dinner together in the evening fall glow. What more could you need?

I love being invited into such intimate gatherings. To talk with each guest about the couple. To feel a part of their beautiful day. A big congratulations to J & C!

I’ve not been on socials as much with the busyness of the fall, and general joy of not being online, but I’ve been thinking about this gorgeous day and its air of mischievous fun.

Part two at the family farm! Truly a dream Kentucky evening with teenage horses who got the zoomies as we approached, then needed lots of pets from Abby & Alex. Followed by gorgeous wanderings across the rollling hills and a few friendly donkeys.

I feel like every post I make I say that type of session is my new favorite. And perhaps my favorite session is always the one I have just done. But I promise, engagement sessions are just so fun! They are low stress for everyone, leave room to play, and are an excuse to see your love documented in such an exciting time of anticipation pre-wedding. I already know A & A’s day next summer is going to be perfect.

Is there a more charming, plant-filled, glowy place to be in town? It was a perfect spot to start our evening with good conversations, yummy cocktails, and this cute duo cozied up together.

What to say about these two and their day? It was stunning. They are lovely. Their family is the sweetest. The Sanctuary is a dream of light. Portraits in this space made my jaw drop. Working as a second shooter for Ayna Lorenzo is one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday.

Maternity photos followed by a newborn session has become a favorite combo lately. I’m enjoying this so much I now offer bundle pricing for expecting families who want photos before and after baby arrives.

Caroline & Zach opted for a studio maternity session and an at-home newborn session. The studio session was a bit more styled, while home was more slice of life and relaxed. A perfect pairing to commemorate this time of change in their growing family.

Rollins Studio is opening a studio!

When I named my business in 2018, I ironically didn’t envision I’d open a physical studio. I mostly liked the sound of the name, and felt it gave me some room to evolve as a company and artist. But lo and behold, I’ve fallen quite in love with studio work over the last two years. Starting this fall, I’ll be operating my own studio space!

The space is currently wrapping up construction, but let’s just say it’s gonna be gorgeous! The building is one I’ve been drooling over for ages, and the crew sharing the building is serendipitously comprised of some of my favorite people in town.

So here’s the deal: I want to take your picture in my beautiful new space starting in October. Headshots, family, maternity, couples, or photos just because you’re feeling cute! Let’s do them all!

How should I celebrate this? Mini session day? Extended sessions? Discounted prints? Big party? What would you be most excited by?
