Such a flex to make your own wedding cake…and assemble it in your wedding dress. Every part of Lisa and Andrew’s wedding day was touched by the hands of the couple and their friends. From the ceremony officiant and a poem written specifically for this moment, friends offering their home for a morning of prep, a crew assembling to rock out decor, the cookie favors made by Andrew’s mom, and of course, the cake. Every bit so packed with love and a testament to the beautiful life and community these two have made. I loved sharing the day with them, from our ferry ride across the river, taking in the sunshine in Gantry Plaza Park, the beautiful dinner by American Brass, and the killer dance floor that wouldn’t quit.

Getting ready at the family home. A small handful of moments with Christine, her parents, and sister before the wedding ceremony. It’s pretty special to spend the time before the big event in a space that holds so many memories and mementos. It felt like a big hug with such a chill and easygoing energy as everyone moved through the process together.

I absolutely love when a wedding is centered around home. Giana and Lindsay got ready together in their apartment, and then walked with their friends and families to nearby local restaurant French Louie for the celebration. Everyone pitched in to decorate and organize the day, and Giana’s father lovingly officiated the ceremony. It was followed up by sharing a beautiful meal, so many laughs and happy tears, and even a little dancing courtesy of a DJ friend’s special playlist before everyone walked again to the after party nearby.

Brittany and Ryan set out to create a wedding with a whimsical/slightly kitschy vibe that doesn’t take itself too seriously. They hosted their easygoing day not too far from their Brooklyn home at Bacchus Bistro. And despite the nor’easter blowing through, they pulled off an event that was so fun and sweet.

The ceremony was officiated by Ryan’s grandfather with a mix of nostalgia and humor. Dinner kicked off with a French onion soup that turned out to be the perfect fit for this chilly, windy day. And then dancing kicked off to an amazing live set by the B2Z Trio. Brittany pulled off one more crowd pleaser moment by swapping out her high necked lace collared dress for a short, sleek party dress with killer feathered gloves. The dance floor stayed packed to the gills all night.

Hayley and Tom wanted to lean into great food and drinks and creating a warm, welcoming environment for their guests for their wedding. They pulled it off by hosting a jazz lunch wedding at The River Cafe on an absolutely perfect September day.

Their ceremony was beautifully guided by Dani of Once Upon a Vow in the gardens before moving onto cocktails and a multi-course meal with Alex Edge Jazz Trio providing the soundtrack and the Manhattan skyline providing the views.

Afterwards, the party moved to Bearded Lady, a Brooklyn tiki bar that they filled with fun balloons from The Balloon Saloon. The day wrapped up with cocktails inspired by the couple’s kitties, Cash and Poppy, and lots of snacks.
