What an honor and joy to capture a maternity session for Kandyce with the best tree branch holding assistant, her husband- Dayne!!

I want every single couple, family, and person to enjoy their surroundings during sessions because what a beautiful world this is and how special to have this moment in time documented 🥰 how could you not love being surrounded by these spring flowering trees!?

Idk if it’s capitol or capital but however you spell it- it’s the perfect spot, rain or shine, wind or calm, cold or warm for some classic Wisconsin engagement photos!

It was a chilly day during their engagement photos, but I have a feeling their July wedding will be 🔥 and I cannot wait to document more of their love story!!

POV- when your baby is 6 months old is one of the absolute best times to get photos of your family! Better yet if you can do so in the beautiful spring flowering trees 🥰

We could not have asked for a more beautiful spring morning and I’m so grateful to this wonderful family for their flexibility and choosing me to document their journey through pregnancy to running around the Arboretum with their happy, sweet 6 month old girl! What a gift this job is 🥰

I used to wear cute outfits, but these days I mostly dress in anticipation of getting snort on my shoulder and food on my pants (not my snot or food for clarification), but putting on a cute outfit does wonders for my self esteem!

I had the privilege of getting in front of the camera for family photos and it was a treat to get dressed up and run around a stunning park (even if my son was NOT having it 😆). I need to do this more, anyone else?

That *engaged* glow is the best!!

I love when the sun cooperates and we can embrace the warm joy the sunshine adds to an engagement session! Sun flares and my filmy filter add fun variety too ☺️

If you’re getting married November - April choosing a venue with beautiful indoor backdrops is the key!

Brookelynn and David has a chilly November wedding day but everything was stunning non the less because they chose well!

When your “something blue” is your wedding- what a show stopper!

Lauren and Trevor had beautiful blue elements sprinkled throughout their entire wedding day, even guests were mostly in shades of blue! This theme created a beautiful, cohesive, memorable, and intentional wedding.

What color theme would you choose for your wedding day?! I’m a millennial so naturally mine would be green these days 😆 you can never go wrong with blue, soft pinks and greens in my book! But I’m constantly in awe of the creative weddings I get to document!

Private vows are always such a special moment in a wedding day!

Even if you don’t want to do a first look you can do private vows (say a private touch and vows for example). The beauty of weddings now is you can make them whatever you want! Start with drinks, do your vows alone or with your family, make them long or make them short- but please make them authentic to you.

If you don’t want 150 people staring at you while you share intimate stories I would definitely recommend the private vow route 😉 this is yet another thing I wish I had done on my wedding- thankfully you can learn from me!

What a joy it was to be running around downtown Madison with these two!

November will be here before we know it, and based on how fun the engagements were I’m sure Shelby and Shayne’s wedding will be a BLAST!

I’m all for taking distractions out of photos, but adding something that wasn’t there feels wrong to me.

I was curious how good AI would do with adding leaves, but I delivered the photos without the addition. Personally I don’t feel right adding things into photos that wasn’t there- it’s about authenticity, and that is important to me 🤷🏽‍♀️ enhance yes- straight up fake…. Currently it’s a no but I’m curious - what do you as a client or photographer think about AI adding something that wasn’t there?
