This popped into my fb memories from 6 years ago and it occurred to me that I’ve not shared it here or told the story that love of my dogs and art is what created this account!!

When Covid hit, I was working in corporate as a creative director even though I’d also been in photography for my whole adult life. When lockdown happened I started this project with my dogs, Rocco and Nala, as a creative assignment to bring me joy and keep me inspired and entertained. One of my degrees is in art history, so I decided to recreate all my favorite paintings from my favorite artists both living and dead, such as Rebrandt, Chuck Close, Frida Khalo, Degas, , and others. It is what kept me sane. It also had creative parameters so my dogs or myself would be ok doing it: each image was created in 20 minutes or less start to finish. Each dog only had to pose for 5 minutes and got copious amounts of treats. No AI was allowed (it didn’t even exist then!) and I could ONLY use items already in my apartment.

We don’t do it anymore, but this is the project that brought me back to photography, and made me make the decision to abandon corporate and concentrate on the joy of creating with dogs.

This is what elegance looks like. Cora the Borzoi joined me at the new Wagner Park Pavilion near Battery Park for a session that was everything she is: graceful, gorgeous, quietly elegant. This sweet girl was the best model and SO pretty! 😍

New York is the BEST canvas! I get asked all the time about the best locations for sessions, and to be honest, it’s really all about how you want your session to FEEL. I want to photograph your life with your dog in this amazing city, but where that happens is up to you!! I put together a list of the most requested spots so you can see the “vibe” in each area, BUT also know that I LOVE finding new spots I haven’t been to 100 times or photographing your pup in a location that is special to you! Babka is a natural. He loves the camera and is the best little model….like…EVER. He recently joined me in the studio in Brooklyn. I’m not sure any being has ever looked better in a top hat. His little tongue blep and his two different colored eyes will charm you out of all your treats. 🥰

FOSTER FRIDAY!
I held my first Foster Friday this week in the new studio. It’s a day anyone who has an adoptable dog can bring them in for some great adoption photos. It’s especially great for dogs who have been in foster care for awhile or who might not show their true personality at an adoption event. The studio is chill and it lets the dog relax and capture who they are! A great adoption photo can make all the difference!!

I recently spent some time in beautiful Paris and one of my favorite pups, Hugo, joined me for a session at the Louvre. This is Hugo’s 4th session in 3 counties and he’s been a superb little model for every one! I’m not sure if his personality or his eyelashes are bigger but both are small compared to his heart. He’s perfect and I love him.
