Pat Cleveland’s star rose in 1973, after she walked in a legendary contest between American and French fashion designers known as the Battle of Versailles. She’s partied at Studio 54, slept on Karl Lagerfeld’s floor, been a muse to Salvador Dalí, and carved out a space in the fashion industry all her own.

Her daughter, Anna is a cultural force in her own right—having grown up in and around the fashion realm, (her first editorial shoot occurred at 2 years old), Anna Cleveland’s multitudinous brand relationships, runway appearances, and cover shoots mark the model’s unique legacy as a global tastemaker.

On how her lineage defines beauty through generations, Pat shares, “Beauty can mean different things to everyone. It’s often about kindness, confidence, or even appearance. These ideas are usually shared through stories, culture, and traditions within the family.”
