⚽ BRUINS BATTLE MUSTANGS TO SCORELESS DRAW

The Bruins traveled to Hidden Valley Tuesday afternoon for a non-league matchup with the Mustangs, where the two sides battled to a 0-0 draw.

Hidden Valley created several opportunities in the first half, putting multiple shots on target. Goalkeeper Josh Martyn came up with key saves, while the crossbar provided some additional help as the Bruins kept the Mustangs off the board. Martyn finished the afternoon with the first clean sheet of his varsity career.

Brookings-Harbor responded with a strong second half, controlling possession and creating a handful of scoring opportunities. The Bruins put multiple shots on goal and struck the crossbar several times, but saves from the Hidden Valley goalkeeper kept them from finding the back of the net.

Neither side was able to break through before the final whistle, sending the Bruins home with a 0-0 draw.

The Bruins now turn their attention to their home opener Tuesday, September 8, when they host St. Mary’s.

🏈 BRUINS WIN HOME OPENER, 35-12

Brookings-Harbor opened its home schedule with a 35-12 victory over Gold Beach on Friday night, using a dominant second half to pull away.

Gold Beach capitalized on an early Bruins turnover to take a 6-0 lead, but Brookings-Harbor answered with a touchdown run from Kaedin Socia ( #9) and the PAT to go ahead 7-6.

The Bruins defense provided a huge momentum swing in the second quarter when Grady Maylin ( #12) scooped up a Gold Beach fumble and took it to the house. Gold Beach answered late, sending the Bruins into halftime with a narrow 13-12 lead.

Brookings-Harbor took control after the break.

Henry Austin ( #24) scored on the ground and added the two-point conversion before Owen Austin ( #10) broke free for another rushing touchdown. Elias Haro ( #1) added the final Bruins touchdown in the fourth quarter to make it 35-12.

Owen Austin then picked off Gold Beach on its very next offensive play, helping seal the win.

The Bruins outscored Gold Beach 22-0 in the second half to secure the home-opening victory.

📍 NEXT UP: The Bruins travel to Rogue River on Friday, Sept. 4.

🔥 September 1: The season officially begins on the road against Hidden Valley.

🏠 September 8: We’re back home for our HOME OPENER vs. St. Mary’s! We want to see the stands packed!

Congratulations to the Brookings-Harbor Class of 2026! 🎓

The Bruins battled through a tight defensive game on senior night, but Cascade Christian broke things open with a big 5th inning to secure the win. Brookings kept it competitive early and fought hard throughout the night.
