I’m from a small town where everyone knows your name and if the gossip is good enough, it’ll beat you to the store a mile from your house after someone gets wind of it. We don’t have a single stoplight, and I’m pretty sure there are more barns then homes, and the cow and chicken house population give the human population a run for their money. When we get together with our family and friends, it’s
a time to talk about what’s going on in our lives, who is with who, what we’ve done in the year past, and a little reminiscence on what happened when we were younger. When friends are introduced to children, we always say something along the lines of “this here is the one that your mamma….” Or “your dad and I got in so much trouble when…” We realize that the moments we can cherish are sometimes the ones that are only important to us and that we are proud to tell about later on. Every time we go to the grandparents, they have a new photo to tell us about, as they stare off into nothing. They will point to every person in the photograph, calling them by name with each new story they tell that we soon learn each tale by heart, but pay attention anyways. Although the same stories can get old, the worn photograph that our grandparents pull out they cherish just as much as we learn too. My mission is to create for you and your family a photograph that, with years, still gives you the same memories and moments to cherish; that the edges are worn from holding and showing to those you love. I want to capture the moments that show your loved ones the way you want to remember them for years to come and that your family can reminiscence about. Each photograph you cherish should have a down home feeling that says ‘this is your family just the way they are’ and I would love to be the one that brings that to you. In my photography I also strive to have more urban, fashion and modeling photos that push the bounds of a conservative backwoods example. I look for models who have always wanted to try their hand at modeling or who want a fun, no boundaries photo-shoot they’ve always wanted to do. If your dream is to model fashion in a city, just like the models in your magazine, I would love to be your photographer. If you want to try a themed photo-shoot or you were inspired by something you saw, I would love to work with you until we capture the exact vision in your head. I would love to work closely with you with props, locations, and wardrobe until it works for you.
