Gainesville hosted Tuscarora, Osbourn, Hylton, Millbrook, Justice, Gar-Field and Patriot at the Cardinal Classic Wrestling Tournament. Four mats filled with constant action did not disappoint and this extremely well run event. Patriot came out tough scoring first in this final championship round of play but was not able convert for the extra point. Brentsville evened the score plus a PAT going into the half leading Patriot 7-6. A safety against Patriot in the second half brought Brentsville further in the lead. Brentsville was able to finish the game with a final score of 15-6 capping off and undefeated season and winning the first ever Girls Flag Football Championship in Prince William County. Game 2 of the Flag Football Semifinals, Gainesville vs Patriot. Both teams were pulling flags well and at the half the score was 0-0. In the second half Patriot scored with a pick 6 in what would be the only touchdown of the game sending them into the championship round against Brentsville District. Game 1 of the Flag Football Semifinals brought together Battlefield and Brentsville District. Battlefield held Brentsville to just 7 points in the first half. In the second half Brentsville brought the heat and ended the game in a shut out 20-0 advancing to the championship.
