A month later, but i been wanting to share our weekend road trip escape from Bristol to EKY & WV. Here's Part 1.

Our two main goals for that Saturday were to go support & Read Spotted Newt. Bristol > Cumberland KY > Hazzard KY.

Hill & Holler recently opened up their new shop in Cumberland, and I've been itching to go support! Great Appalachian artists supported in-house, and their own wares made it fun seeing all the creativity in the small shop. We picked up a few things and also supported . A plant parents delight! Adorable shop! Hill & Holler has items on their website, too!

As we were leaving, we stumbled upon the coffee shop and emporium across the street. We stopped in to grab a cup of coffee. Always love a good coffee shop. They had light grab and go/ready to make food options and treats that looked very good! The baritas were kind but the true treat was when the owner came up to us and recommended us to check out the upstairs. Upstairs is perfect for relaxing with a coffee and a good book! Grab one off their shelf and read! We were tickeled to hear the inspiration of the coffee shop, the before and after and the story of the building pre-current state. The gent has great ideas, a big heart, and a kind can-do attitude. He's got plans for a couple other buildings in town and hope to see the ideas come to life.

Follow along for part 2 tomorrow!

Just to update everyone. First of all, thank you for all the support and follows, it means a lot!

We've got a couple of custom orders getting ready to be made, and planning on getting product in asap for the rest of y'all to see!

Holiday themed hats & beanies are in the works, as well as BHC logo hats.

If you're interested in getting a custom hat done, message us, and we'll discuss it, and send you a request form.

We are a team who believes in inclusivity, the common worker, our local community, family and no hate in these mountains/no hate towards these mountains. Once we get going, we hope to give back to the community for some nonprofits we support. The goal is set to start that by February or March.

Any questions, drop a comment below.

That's a fire of line up y'all!

Proud to live in these mountains and call it home. I know Dolly says during her heartsong performance that "there's magic in these mountains," and sure she was talking about them Smoky Mountains but it also applies to the entire Appalachian region. Resilient and Spirited.

Featuring Chris Stapleton, Dwight Yoakam, and Tyler Childers, Kentucky Rising is a benefit concert to support those in Eastern Kentucky who have been impacted by the recent & catastrophic flooding. Net proceeds will benefit the Kentucky Rising Fund to support flood relief work and recovery efforts i...

Carowinds theme park, located just outside of Charlotte NC, is known for their fun roller coasters, including the famous Fuery 325 and The Intimador.

While the coasters are a thrill in and of themselves, Carowinds was celebrating their inaugural State Line Celebration, celebrating the Carolinas coming together in the park (seriously, the park is on both sides of the Carolinas).

There were food and music celebrating the two states and while the music was enjoyable, the food was divine!

Peachy Keen food vendor was representing SC, who had Peach Fritters ๐Ÿ‘ and Carolina Slaw Dogs. The slaw dog was unique, messy and good. The Peach Fritters were fried perfectly with the side of fresh Peach, which was good to the last bite. Seconds please!

On our way out we spotted fried green tomatoes from Tar Heels Tastes. A southern delicacy anywhere, these FGT were the bomb .com. Perfectly battwred and fried, and a drizzle of spicy sauce on top (didn't take notes sorry ๐Ÿ˜…). The tastings were affordable and with a season pass, we scored even better deals.

Driving back across the mountains, we detoured to Ashville for some amazing Thai food for dinner. Suwana's Thai Orchid. Friendly service, and fantastic choices. I chose the basic chicken stir fry.

What a day of fun dropping 200 to 300+ feet but the food was a major highlight of the day!

The State Line Festival is going on now! Head to Carowinds for good family fun!

I'll have photos tomorrow but here's my face again. Snow was all but a dude here in Bristol but still got out and took photos, hiked a little and saw people laughing and enjoying the day.

Warmed up with some hot tea in my new travel mug (yay wawa! My old cup was worn out ๐Ÿ˜„) then ended up on my back photographing the festival of trees in . Head to toe in mud, slopes and wet grass don't work well. Just an FYI

Also! I got OUT. I didn't cancel or postpone myself. I got out and enjoyed my self outside and compared to the last 4/5 months, that's HUGE. Battling can be a struggle, and small wins can progress into bigger success. Starting 2022 off well, I guess.

Hello. Is it me your looking for? Is it still worth posting here? I mean what's the point? Maybe a Patreon could be useful, maybe a blog.

So here's some hard honesty.

I ask my self this daily. Seems like it's easier just posting to stories. It seems like I can't turn my mind off and be "normal," but I don't want to be normal. Normal is overrated, normal is boring. Normal is putting your self in a predetermined box that society dictates. That seems foolish.

Ok. Is that too much? I'm sorry. Slightly. Does anyone read texts anymore? You know what I love? Deep thought, deep discussion. I think the American dream is dead, I think Country Music is going to see a big move into quality talent, and not fake cowboys singing pop songs, even if the genre closely aligns and is influenced by pop music.

The world is dark, but so many on this platform, give me hope. Quitting that dead end job and sticking it to "the man," and venturing off into your own passions. Be it a record store, photography, your own tourist business, vanlife, digital nomad. That's amazing and I'll forever be a big support. Also, to everyone quitting their jobs and not taking the BS and finding that job with more self- freedom, I'm thrilled for you as well.

To anyone struggling, never give up, never stop dreaming, and always follow your heart and move with kindness.

Also. Support the war on Christmas. Down with the red suit north pole mafia! Are you in? (THIS is to see who's made it this far). Happy Holidays. Ima go tell some old head that. Enjoy your week.

on the outskirts of Johnson City is a great place to get in the fall spirit. Sorry my summer homies, looks like fall is on it's way.

Y'all need to make a trip to Laurel's Pumpkin Barn as they have so many unique pumpkins and gourds.

We watched as the farm hands were carefully culling and cleaning the bins of fresh picked Pumpkins. Each Pumpkin is cleaned and inspected, if it's not fit for the displays, they get set aside. No photo of that but was tickled to see such care taken into consideration.

Finally, Laurels has a nice little gift shop where crafted items for the fall (& winter) are available for purchase including their own shirts.

I'll have the vertical ones posted to my story.

Ditch supermarket & big box Pumpkins and pick them locally!

As always, be respectful to the owners property, and don't touch or climb or venture off anywhere aside from the public spaces.
