A little reintroduction to the newer faces around here 🫶🏼📸
Before there was NCA Photography…
Before there was PhotosByAngelicaa…
Before there was a DSLR…
There was a little blue Canon PowerShot and a Portuguese girl from little Bristol, Rhode Island, who never wanted to miss a moment.
Family parties, vacations, Portuguese festas, weddings, random car rides… if it was happening, I was probably taking a picture of it.
I was always the one in the family with a camera or phone in my hand, taking pictures and recording videos of everything.
Looking back now, I’m so grateful I did.
Because I realize I wasn’t just taking pictures. I was preserving memories of my family before life changed.
When my goddaughter was born, something shifted. I found myself wanting to capture every smile, every milestone, and every stage of her growing up. Without realizing it, she became my favorite little subject and helped me fall in love with portrait photography.
Then in 2017, my parents gifted me my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel T6i.
That camera changed everything.
What started as a hobby became a passion.
That passion eventually became PhotosByAngelicaa.
Years later, I upgraded to my Canon R6, continued growing as a photographer, and eventually wanted to create something that reflected not only my work, but the heart behind it.
In 2024, PhotosByAngelicaa grew into what is now NCA Photography.
NCA honors my late brother Nathan, myself, and our family name. More than a business name, NCA represents the people, memories, and moments that shaped me into who I am today.
The cameras changed.
The editing style changed.
The business changed.
But the reason I pick up a camera never did.
Because one day, today’s moments become tomorrow’s memories.
And those memories deserve to be remembered.
At the end of the day, I’m still that Portuguese woman from little Bristol, Rhode Island, trying to hold onto a moment a little longer.
