A single U.S. Army Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian Attack Helicopter made a stop at Tri-Cities Airport (KTRI) on an overcast Thursday afternoon. This Apache made a previous stop earlier in the day at Knoxville Downtown Island Home Airport (KDKX) with another Apache. However, when I arrived at Tri-Cities Airport (KTRI), only this single Apache was on the ramp, preparing to depart.

Digging through some old videos, I found the arrival of US Navy Lockheed P-3C Orion (BuNo 156515) to Hickory Regional Airport (KHKY) where it received a water cannon salute as it pulled up to be retired at the Hickory Aviation Museum.

Day two of the U.S. Navy VMF-40 squadron CMV-22B Osprey stranded at Tri-Cities Airport. A second rescue Osprey (BISON40, 169457) arrives bringing a multitude of sailors and supplies to work of the broken down Osprey.

After the rescue Osprey departed from Tri-Cities Airport, I was checking my flight radar app and I saw a U.S. Navy Boeing P-8A Poseidon (169326) was inbound for some pattern work.

A surprise visitor to Tri-Cities Airport Thursday afternoon. A U.S. Navy Bell Boeing CMV-22B Osprey from VRM-40 squadron (Mighty Bisons) based at Naval Station Norfolk Chambers Field. VRM-40 is a Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron of the United States Navy. Turns out that BISON44 (169466) had a mechanical issue and landed as a safety precaution. A rescue Osprey (BISON45, 169468) arrived a few hours later bringing some sailors along to run some diagnostics on the wounded bird.

A pair of U.S. Army Boeing CH-47F Chinooks arrived at Tri-Cities Airport on Memorial Day for a fuel stop and crew rest. I will have a video of them arriving and departing on my Aerowephile YouTube channel in the near future. Look for it!
