To my Kelley Morgan Photography clients, followers, and friends,

After a lot of reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to take a step back from photography for the time being.

Over the last several months, my mental health has taken a significant hit, and I’ve reached a point where I need to prioritize healing and getting myself back to a healthier place. Photography has always been something I pour my heart into, and right now I am not able to give my clients, their memories, and their images the level of attention and creativity they deserve.

Rather than continue while struggling to be fully present, I feel it is more responsible to take a break and focus on improving my mental well-being.

This is not goodbye. Photography remains something I love deeply, and I hope to return when I am in a place where I can once again provide the quality experience and work that people have come to expect from me.

To everyone who has supported Kelley Morgan Photography over the years—thank you. Your trust, encouragement, and kindness have meant more than you know.

For now, I’m choosing to focus on healing, taking care of myself, and finding my footing again.

With gratitude,
Kelley

Let’s make this a thing.

If you’re attending an event that has an advertised professional photographer hired by the organizers, and you want to bring your own professional camera to take photos for your portfolio or of your own people and animals participating, please extend a little professional courtesy. Introduce yourself. Have a conversation. Make it clear that you’re not there to undercut their work or sell images from the event.

Taking photos for yourself, your friends, or personal memories that you aren’t profiting from is one thing. Showing up, photographing everyone competing, posting galleries, and selling those images without regard for the photographer who was hired to cover the event is another.

For many photographers, this isn’t just a hobby—it’s their livelihood. Sometimes they aren’t paid an appearance fee at all. Their income comes solely from the images they sell after the event. When someone steps in behind them and profits from the same audience, it directly impacts their ability to make a living.

The creative industry is hard enough as it is. There is room for all of us, but that space should be built on respect, communication, and professionalism. Let’s stop walking all over each other and start supporting our fellow photographers instead. 📷❤️

If I notice that a photo I have taken is being uploaded or used on an AI platform, I will kindly ask that the product of that prompt with my photo to be removed. I respectfully request that my images not be uploaded to AI platforms at any time.

I understand that some people may not be aware of this, and I truly believe education goes a long way. A simple apology and acknowledgment is always appreciated, and I trust that moving forward this boundary will be respected.

However, I’ve noticed that when I’ve addressed this kindly, some individuals have chosen to unfollow my photography page or unfriend me when they were the ones to breach this trust. While that is their choice, please understand that this is about protecting my work and the work of fellow photographers.

Moving forward, if I notice any individual using professional photos—whether mine or another photographer’s—on an AI platform, I will not book a session with you. This policy is in place out of respect for myself, my business, and the photography community as a whole.

Thank you to those who continue to support artists and respect the time, creativity, and effort that goes into professional photography. 🤍

Friendly reminder about AI trends & photos 👋

Please don’t submit photos you didn’t take—especially professional photos—into AI apps or trend generators.

Those images are someone else’s creative work. Photographers invest time, skill, equipment, editing, and years of experience into creating them. Uploading their work into AI tools without permission disrespects that effort and can violate usage rights tied to the images.

If you love your photos, the best way to show that love is by respecting your photographer:
• Don’t upload their work into AI tools
• Don’t alter or remix it without consent
• Don’t use it for trends it wasn’t intended for

If you want to join an AI trend, use photos you took yourself or images you have explicit permission to use.

Support artists. Respect creatives. 🖤
They deserve it.
