Happy Froggy Friday!

One of my favorite newborn poses! But this is the first true perfection, I have now since captured multiple "perfect" froggy poses, but I'm just in love with this one! The tiny toes tucked, little hands under their chin, and that perfect squishy face. This pose is always done safely with composites, spotters, and lots of patience… but the result is pure magic.

This morning, the world lost someone who felt like family long before I ever understood fame or legacy. I’ve known Dolly Parton’s name since I was little, my grandmother would tell stories about how our family was connected to Mrs. Dolly herself. I carried that pride everywhere. I remember pointing at her picture in the Dixie Stampede like she was standing right there, I would say, "Hey Cousin Dolly, you know we're family, right?" mimicking her voice and I said back, “Well of course we are, darlin’,” as if she had spoken it straight to me. I was 7😅

Dolly Parton belongs on the Mount Rushmore of humanity right alongside Steve Irwin, Mister Rogers, LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow, and Jane Goodall. People who didn’t just entertain us but softened the world. People whose kindness became a compass. Dolly wasn’t just a star; she was a guidepost for how to live with generosity, humor, and heart.

She made me proud of the mountains I was born in. Proud of the heritage of Appalachian people. Proud of Tennessee. She showed the world that mountain folks are brilliant, creative, generous, and worth celebrating. She did more for this state than most political leaders ever even attempted and she did it with rhinestones, laughter, and a heart big enough to hold all of us.

She poured beauty into our state and never forgot where she came from. She carried the Smokies with her everywhere she went, and because of her, we carried pride in our roots everywhere we went too. Her music wrote stories many of them rooted in the struggles, and soul of Appalachia. She built a legacy of generosity, pride, and joy that will outlive all of us. She made Tennessee better. She made childhood better. She made the world better.
Her legacy is bigger than music, a few things I remember she was active with, her Imagination Library sending millions of books to children. The Dollywood Foundation donated millions to education, community support, and disaster relief.

I remember the wildfire that she gave $10,000 to every family who lost their home in the 2016 Smoky Mountain fires, and to the floods of Hurricane Helene. She quietly paid medical bills, funded scholarships, and helped families in crisis often without ever attaching her name.

Now that's a list but not only all of this, but she created Dollywood. A wonderful place that generates thousands of jobs and brings millions into the local economy. Keeping local money local. She showed rural kids, poor kids, mountain kids, and dreamers that you can come from nothing and still give the world everything.
Thank you, Dolly, for every book, every smile, every act of quiet kindness, and every reminder that the mountains make strong people.

The world feels dimmer today. But the light you lit in millions of hearts especially here in the hills & mountains you loved will never go out.

Newborns change fast, way faster than you realize when you’re in the middle of feedings, healing, and figuring out a new routine.
Most moms tell me they didn’t notice how much their baby changed until they looked back at photos from just a week earlier.

My newborn sessions are calm, safe, and focused on your baby exactly as they are right now. Just clean, timeless images you’ll be glad you have later.

These early days don’t stay long, but the photos will.

Holy cow, Kinsley is ONE.

This sweet girl just graduated her milestone package, and what a year it has been. Watching her grow from tiny newborn snuggles to this silly, cake‑covered one‑year‑old has been the sweetest part of our studio days.

It’s amazing how much she’s changed since she first came through our doors her little personality blooming bigger every single session. We adore you, Ms. Kinsley. Happy first birthday, sweet girl!
