I have been blessed time and again as a photographer. Every birth, newborn, family, high school senior, business headshot, branding photos, weddings, etc. These are all amazing milestones in ones life and I feel honored to have been the one chosen to capture these moments for the amazing clients/friends in my life. My job blesses me day in and day out, but there is another great blessing that brings me both joy and sadness...when I am asked to photograph the end of a beloved pets life. I am happy to get to know that beautiful soul and to spend time photographing the bond he or she has with their family, but sad to know they are leaving this earth and those who love them. I recently was asked to photograph the amazing Dancer with his family before he crossed over. First, I want to tell people who know about horses and their bloodlines that Dancer is the great grandson of the AMAZING Northern Dancer!!! As a girl who grew up in the industry, I knew I was photographing ROYALTY!!! His bloodline also holds Quarter Horse Racing Royalty as well...HE WAS ROYALTY PERIOD!!! But more important was the absolute beautiful and tender relationship he had with his person Dori Berean. I have truly never witnessed anything like it. I have no words, but I hope that we all can experience that unconditional love and trust at least once in our lifetime! His little person June was there to say goodbye also and the bond there was so tender. All I could think was "and though she be but little, she is fierce." June's heart was breaking, but she put on her brave face and she showed up for the tough moments. Please keep Dori, June and their family in your prayers because the hole that Dancer left behind is giant. Dancer, I was blessed to get to know you and I find comfort in the knowledge that you are running free with your friends in your brand new body...probably giving your great grandfather a run for his money!!!!
